talked to local dealer about shocks yesterday he sold me on some rancho rs9000x 9 way adjustables he didnt seem to know much about sye/cv shaft and was going to look into it?!
anyone have any insight pros/cons on the foureal brand of adjustable control arms ?

First off, glad we can help! There are tons of helpfull and knowledeable folks here on this forum so feel free to ask away! We won't flame or tell you to click the search bar before you ask a question. We've all been (and still are) in the same boat you're in.
Cheapest? Yeah been there myself, now I'm re-doing it all over again. The best advise I can give you is to not just think about initial cost but think about cost of ownership. Cost of ownership is what really matters. That's what that product is going to cost you to maintain over the life of the product.
You already have a great looking rig as it sits and I'm sure it's plenty funtional without the lift you just bought. Take your time and ask tons of questions, do LOTS of research and most importantly - don't be afraid to pick up the phone and give a reputable vendor a call. Be sure to ask what their experiences have been with a particular product. There are lots of good vendors out there that can give you some good solid advice before you wip out that AMEX card.

as far as shocks go there are many diffrent companies like....
old man emu
and the list goes on
I have Rubicon Express and Like them....ride is pretty good, mine is a daily driver too.

Here ya go. Short arms - adjustable:
Full Traction (I think they're UCA and LCA's are both adjustable?)
I'm not saying I would recommend any one of these brands over the other. Just giving you some ideas.

|bluvikng||I would start with the lowers, and as you will probably go with the SYE kit, I don't think you will need to adjust the rear pinion backwards any. The lowers, maintain your wheelbase, the uppers can control your pinion angle, in the rear.|

|bluvikng||I know that Nth Degree carries them, but they are a bit pricey. Maybe run a google on adjustable arms, for Jeeps. I had done this before, and I know there are several manufacturers out there. Just can't recall any one else beside Nth Degree.|

|bluvikng||Most of the 4" kits, are for short arms. If your kit did not come with new, longer, short arms, you can just get some adjustable ones, and keep your geometry correct. By that, I mean, keeping your wheelbase the same. As you lift, the tendency is too pull your axles closer together. With adjustable arms, you can force the axles apart, with your new lift. I would definitely recommend the SYE kit, so that your transfer case out put shaft, is more in line with your pinion, on the rear axle. By doing this, you will not need to drop your skid plate, and be able to maintain more clearance.|

you don't need the long arms with that kit but you should definitely get a sye and cv driveshaft.
you don't HAVE to get new control arms (the standard basic RE 3.5" doesn't come with new control arms and it nets over 4") but it would most likely be a good idea and i think that you have to have rear adjustables to set the pinion angle or somethin like that. im sure someone on here knows for sure.

Well that does sound a bit confusing. From what your saying it sounds like its an upgrade kit for the long arm suspension. There are Two types of TJ suspensions, short arm, which are like the control arms currently on your jeep and long arm which are, well longer and require cutting and welding in most cases.
I would advise, doing a few things, where did the this gift come from, supplier etc. If you have a number call them and see what you can find out. IF no info. What you are going to need IMO, is the following: With 4" you will need to address the transfercase, even with the drop brackets you most likey will need the Slip Yoke elimenator, or SYE. and new rear driveshaft, about $500 total.As the angle of your rear drive shaft will produce vibrations and then your u-joint start to wear out. I would also look into some new lower control arms that are adjustable so you can set your pinion angle to resuce vibs. many folks have had issue with the terra arms so go with say rubcion express for example. Also i would go with a front adjustable track bar vs the drop pitman arm. I am some other's will chime in.

another lift question
I recived a 4" teraflex basic suspension lift as a gift this christmas and need to know what other parts are suggested or required? this is what i currently have - 2004 wrangler x with 2" bb on front for leveling and a 2" bl running 33x12.50 firestone mt's. the kit includes front&rear coils,drop pitman arm, track bar relocator bracket, transfer case drop kit, sway bar extension bars. in the instructions its says long arm kit required, first off what is a long arm?are they refering to control arms? front? rear? upper? lower? also says sye mandatory? is it? this is my daily driver and is off road maybe 3 times a year. someone please educate me on this!
