I had good luck several years ago at Holt in Arlington.

When in comes to thier service dept though.

Now caught up on the thread. Glad you got someone to help you get what you want. That is odd though that they didn't give you any paperwork. Welcome.

I'm sure it is fine. I would want copies of the papers that were signed, but I bet most people don't even think about it. You could always go by and ask for a copy of the papers if it makes you feel better.

Congratulations of the new Jeep!!!

What did you sign? They didn't give you copies of something you signed? That would not give me a warm fuzzy feeling either...

Arlington Texas here! Welcome to the forum. This is the best forum on the planet to get advice and info on Jeeps.

I found a 2011 Rubicon with everything I want with only 8k on it. If I don't buy that, I will order the Rubicon in red. I definitely will post a pic :-D
2011 has been a great year for the jeep, no real issues with them. I personally love mine and not a single problem with 30k miles on it.

zerinS4 Not accurate. Hydro blue will only be available in the Freedom Edition for the foreseeable future. They may make it available on other trims down the road, but not initially.

I have recently purchased ranch land that is very raw acreage with creeks, lots of rocks, steep hills, etc. I drove a Sahara and was really impressed with how it handled, however, I thought maybe the Rubicon would be the way to go since I will be driving on the land more than I will pavement.

I went into a dealership the other day ready to get the Rubi written up but the salesperson tried to steer me away from the Rubicon and from ordering a 2014. I'm pretty girly-girl looking and honestly do not know much about vehicles. He did a search for 2013 Sahara Unlimiteds and found one with almost everything I wanted but in a color I didn't like. I lost confidence in the salesperson and did not close the deal.

I would love to get the hydro blue, which I understand is being released in a few days? From what I have read in the forum, hydro blue will only be available in the Freedom Edition? Does anyone have advice about the Freedom? I really wanted Nav, leather seats with the Connectivity package and it doesn't look from the website like the Freedom offers these things. I wouldn't mind buying and getting the Jeep custom painted.

I apologize if I'm asking something that has already been answered. Thanks so much for your patience with me and any advice is greatly appreciated!
I am from Ft Worth as well, live in Ok now, 2 placed to get great deals are in OKC, David Stanley Chrysler and Bob Howard, both easy to get 5% below invoice and usually have a good selection in stock! Worth a 3 hr drive north!

SculptressTR I really appreciate everyone's advice. Thanks so much!! I am going to wait until the 11th to order. Can't wait!!!

Deuce88 I would get the Sahara. The Sport and Sahara are still Jeeps and are very capable.
The Sahara has a few extras but will still crawl all over most ranches.

Blkfenderslookbetter My $.02... order what you want. The Hydro Blue will be available in all models (Sport, Sahara, or Rubicon) All the colors offered are that way. The only question is when will the color be available. So if Hydro Blue is what you really want, then I'd wait until Sept. 11 and see when it's available. If the timeline is too long for you, then go for the backup choice. If the price of a Rubi is not a deterrent for you then it would be most capable in stock form compared to a Sahara or Sport. But for Texas ranch land, you'll find that a Sport or Sahara would be very much enough to handle anything you need. The only thing maybe would be a more aggressive tire, but you could easily work that into your deal at the time of sale. Good Luck!

Republican Jeep If you plan on being off road as much as you stated, get the Rubicon. If you even think you are interested in the Rubicon, get it. Most are sorry they didn't get it if it was even considered. Also get the color you want not what the dealer has on the lot. When I traded my vehicle in, I drove one of the dealers brand new Jeep Wranglers until they were able to find the color and options I wanted. By the way, I drove their vehicle for about 4 weeks.

blueshound I PM'ed you my dealer in Dallas call him he'll be able to order you a red rubicon.

JeepKrieg I wish you luck in getting a great deal from one of the DFW area dealers. Three of my last four new vehicle purchases were from out of town dealers (two were out of state).

Three area dealers have told me in recent weeks that they have very little profit selling Jeeps and can't keep Wranglers in stock. The one dealer had three COD MW3 models sitting on their lot and several other 2012 models

I will say that I haven't reached out to the Fort Worth dealers (Arlington was the only 817 dealer I tried).

blueshound x3 for the Rubi I ordered mine last week in Red.

x2....sounds like the rubi is for you.... also ge t- exactly - what you want... the salesman wants to steer you from ordering because the orderd unit takes him longer to get the commission IMHO... some orders are going as quickly as 5 weeks.. rubi's are more capable out of the box... many offroaders go with the rubi or the sport with modifications....

Drmad7 And someone bought a Rubicon X in Flame Red. I'm biased as I have an Anvil 10 with red seats but the Flame Red Rubi X gives it a serious run for its money. The 10A does not have unique colors(Anvil is now available on 2014s) and unless they are selling it to you really cheap, it would be best to go with a Rubicon X in the color you want with the options you want. Unless you want red leather seats. But hey, you bought a ranch, you can have Katzkin Red Leather installed!

George Ross My experience with car salesmen is that it is rare to find one that knows the product line as well as the consumer that has done their homework. There are exceptions, but in general you are better off knowing exactly what you want before you go to a dealer. Do your research, decide what you want, and find a dealer that will get it for you.

Keiff I ordered my 2012 Rubi in August of 2011, about a month after the slots opened. I got it exactly how I wanted it. I secured financing and called around locally to ask dealerships if they would help me with an affiliate purchase. None of them called me back, so I called a dealership in Madisonville, TX that my family has a long standing relationship with. They placed my order promptly and it was a no BS experience all the way to driving it away in mid September.

Custom ordering is the way to go. There's lots of good advice here to help you choose the features you'll want. It'll arrive in your desired color, ready to be made your own.

Lusus_Naturae Don't pay to transfer it in, go drive any 2011 first and you'll get some idea of how it handles. Try doing it back to back with a 2013 to compare.

Check out the 2014 thread for more details, Pat tries to keep the first post updated all the time. The new EVIC options alone make me want a 2014, I hope they find how to unlock it for the 2013's.

Thanks, you guys are right. I will wait the next couple of weeks and order :-)

SculptressTR I'm kind of afraid of the 2011 since I haven't driven it and have to pay over $500 just to transfer it in.

zerinS4 Mark Guzman was a great salesperson when I was shopping as well. I didn't end up buying from River Oaks because they didn't have what I wanted, but he was very quick to answer questions and give me the bottom line over email without having to go into the dealership.

That said, had a great experience with Allen Samuels in Houston where I ultimately purchased from, but since you are in Ft. Worth that doesn't help much

I'm in Fort Worth also......and not too impressed with our area dealerships. I get good reports on Huffines in Plano and Feldman River Oaks in Houston. I might even order mine from Pat at Field's in Chicago (a sponsor of this forum). He is the most knowledgeable that you will find.
