well i have a resonator installed on my rig, and to be perfectly honest, i love it.... i like the sound of it. especially in the woods on the trail and probably the best benefit of not having the muffler right under the back is more clearance. and clearance is a good thing....

|genesis151||Some people get so worked up. I straight piped it sounds better then stock. I'm gonna have to figure out how it get a little more rumble. I'm gonna try a resonator. If guys in little Hondas can make there little motors rumble I can do it to a straight 6|

I bet the 3.6 wouldnt sound too bad with smaller pipes with a dual outlet at rear bumper.
The old 4.3s didnt sound too bad with straight pipe duals if you used smaller pipe like 2".

|JKjingle||I was installing the teraflex exhaust spacer and broke 3/4 bolts, drove it to an exhaust shop to fix my mistake and it was awful! I do not recommend at all|

Straight pipes are fine on a race vehicle that runs at W.O.T. or a 1950's rat flathead Ford powered roadster, but a Jeep?
Expect a lousy experience.

|razdds2||the 2010 sounds much better without a muffler, as that is what I tried to do for about a week before getting tired of it. Don't go for the loudest, go for the best sounding!|

|overblown||That would sound pretty awful I'd think. This isn't a V8, it's a silky smooth v6. It will never rumble, no matter what you do to the exhaust. You'll only make it louder. And I suspect not in a good way either.|

Keep in mind your 2012 engine will 'rumble' less than one of the responder's 2010 does. The 2012+ pentastar engine is a mass production efficient passenger vehicle engine. It's built to please the masses who buy regular vehicles. In no way should you think it is unique to the rugged wrangler. It's not. No amount of exhaust work will ever make it rumble.
You might end up sounding like a giant bumble bee, in fact.
