larjeep All you have to do is scuff with a scuff pad. No need to sand and prime. Once scuffed clean with prepsolv and paint.

pursell0011 I was thinking of sanding, priming, then doing a bed liner on the raised part of the hood and body paint on the lower. Does that sound like that would work?

Sorry for the lack of knowledge on hood terminology:-)!!!

Depends on the budget. If your just gonna spend $20 on a spray can and paint it why even bother. It will look like crap

The body shop would spray sealer on it if it needed it then follow it with top coat. No reason for you to put spray bomb primer on it, they will just sand it all off

Not this.
Take the hood off yourself, take all the hardware off also. Sand it with a dual action sander with 400 then 600. Take it to a body shop and have them spray it.

Suggestions?

Doing some work, jeep looks good...however the improvements have really made the hood stand out.

Any ideas on how to fix this on a budget?
