YJ Chica A couple days ago: replaced the front output shaft seal and bushing, front u-joint on drive the drive shaft, and the pinion seal (ordered the wrong seal so had to figure out which one I needed and head to local hardware store after I had everything apart. luckily they had the seal). changed transmission and diff fluid. Now hopefully the front seal will not leak anymore. Still have the oil pan gasket to replace-my biggest leak.

Got the rough edges all painted, and im REALLY looking forward to fender flares again, and ill probably go with the pocket flares, I dont like the way the flat ones look on the rear....

AutobotWrangler took it through some 4 foot mud holes and overgrown trails with a fellow jeeper. Nothing like a mud covered topless jeep to ride into work on a monday morning!

It really does hold better and handles the elements better.

TigWizard Finally took off the diamond plate rocker armor. Guess what I found? Yup, rust. I knew there was some rust under there. I just wasn't sure how much. It looks like, at some point, the rust holes were covered with masking tape and just painted over. The inside of the holes were also taped over and sprayed with bed liner. I won't be able to do a proper repair until spring, so I'll soak the rust with Por -15 and seal up the holes to get me through winter.

I'm not a fan of yellow vehicles at all but this looks real good. I like it! Nice work.

Major Mason We did all the prep work ourselves. Cost was only materials so around $250 for paint. Probably over $1,500 in overall body work over the last year.
10-15-2014 03:04 PM
Beach-Bum very nice! did they do the body work too or did you prep it?

Beach-Bum Pulled my gas tank, cleaning the skid, repainting it, installing a 20 gallon tank. Got everything out today, I'll put it back together tomorrow. Gotta pick up new gas tank straps in the morning. Also replaced my amber parking lights with some clear ones.

darcong Changed engine oil with valvoline conventional + sea foam (half can in the crankcase, the other half in the gas tank) changed tranny fluid with royal purple 10w-30, changed transfer case fluid with royal purple ATF, adjusted the slop out of my steering wheel, and put my 2nd battery back in. Going out of town for a month and a half or so... Will miss her :..-(

Tom95YJ Scored a 8.8 with Disk and LSD for free off a buddy, Gotta pick it up this week when he gets it out from under his in-laws moutaineer The bad is it needs to be regeared so I am thinking Super88 with 4.56's . Now to find a HP44 since I dont plan on going over 35's (still has to fit in garage and be dd without cops hassling me for full width axles )

toddster8 Topped and doored it. I guess summer is over.
Managed to break off one of the leads to the rear window defroster, while changing the gas struts. Wasted an hour trying to solder it back on. Gonna need a better mechanical connection than that...
Also seem to have acquired a loud air rushing noise from the (left?) top of the windshield that starts at 40 mph, and drowns out the stereo on the interstate. I presume that I'm missing some weather stripping in there somewhere.
Add two to the "project" list.

Thank you brother, I want to get the 60's under it before I take it off-road, I know it will never hold up with the 35 and 30. I like how it's coming together, I love a good color contrast. Lol.
