BAP agreed,,,,,

JACK3D Agree with everyone else. A spare tire mount on the hood would be a terrible idea.

But to each their own. It's your Jeep, do what you want. Just make sure you somehow brace the hood underneath or else it'll cave in.

yjkid95 Sounds stupid in my opinion. Do a tubular tailgate and mount the tire on that at a 45 degree angle

Forget the hood just get a overhead rack. and throw all your stuff up there for the expedition..

Timberwolf it would also make opening the hood a pain and it could become a projectile in a crash

MightBeDJ when my buddy got his f250 stuck in the woods we put his spare tire on my hood i was very dangerous could'nt see anything. i'd put it on the rear fender or on the swing gate

Defcon 1 Is your back tailgate mount broken? I have one for sale lol

harleydragon limited visibility plus hood will get caved in without bracing..
08-30-2013 07:37 AM
95YamJam Could be cool. What size tire? Big tires are heavy.
08-30-2013 07:37 AM
87YJnTX severely limited visibility will definitely be a problem. also added heat from motor to tire will be a risk. besides that........do believe it would be kinda ugly.

Spare tire hood mount?

Guys, Been toying with the idea of getting an old hood & modifying to mount the spare tire (... Like the old series Land Rovers). anyone ever think about or attempt this? What do ya'll see as potential issues? ThanksMike, 95 Sahara
