this is what a dana 44 cover will look like. pretty strong. in my comanche, i broke the dana 30 axle 3 times while wheeling in hawaii. never broke the 44.

KBR97 maybe a better option to buy the Rubicon...or for cheaper you could just buy another TJ with 4.0 and at least the D44 in the rear.

Sb5551 I would probably be cheaper to buiy a rubicon that has the 4.0, d44's in the front and rear and lockers in the front and rear. All you would need after that is suspension and tires.

SASA-1 i'm torn between building this Jeep or selling and buying one with a 4.0 and D44s already in place......ahhhh!!!!

KBR97 if your gonna go through all that work and money swapping motors, and transmissions and full suspension job, then why stop there. Get a dana44 for the front and the rear. At least do the rear.

Saint101 Get a d44 and a NV3550
Go with a long arm lift

here's the plan... 98 TJ Build

would it be worth it to beef up the stock D30 and D35 with some 30 spline axles and regear to run 35s??? here's what i have in mind for my build let me know what u think...

-6 inch Rough Country X series lift
-Heavy duty steering system
-35" Boggers w/15x10 soft 8s
-30 spline axles for the D30 and D35 Both Locked and geared to run the 35s
-Swap 2.5l and Ax5 for a 4.3L with Ax15 keeping the stock np231 upgrade w/ SYE

Some other odds and ends stuff but that pretty much the jist of it....

So what do you think?
Is it worth doing a build like that?
Any suggestions......
