I guess this subject is dead and buried, even though it seems no one found the way to update their maps?

|biddysere||So, I have tried to read every thread here but still nothing. Loaded folders they way others said to do it, etc. but when I plug in my usb, the only thing that comes up on the screen is photos, address and music file folders. What am I missing?|

Been a while since I've been out here. Let me answer a few questions...
"PND Did not Update" is not a big deal, it's the Jeep update for Garmin which is probably 5 years old. I have never once seen the PND update work.
Yes downgrade firmware before you can update anything, I always go back to 33.xx just because.
If you are downloading files from torrents, that's probably your problem, check the MD5.

|1quick1||Is there any reason to upgrade my firmware from 43.xx to the latest 50.xx version? As in are the improvements in speed other other areas?|

You can do the code ahead of time and write it down.
I do it in groups of 5 characters
so I make sure it is entered correctly.

|1quick1||Okay I got mine to upgrade to 2014.20. I think the 2014.40 update files I was trying weren't the right ones. I also did the high res JCV for the junction views but haven't noticed any difference compared to what was already on there.|

I am starting to think the 2013 devices cannot
Literally giving up

I absolutely cannot get this to work for some reason. I'm using 43.xx.xx 2013 maps trying to update the junction view and 2014 maps.
Did these exact steps. My drive has only a "Garmin" folder with the ISO file named exactly as below. Inside the Garmin folder is a JCV folder with the jcv file in it.
Make sure that you are using the full North America maps, not just the US.
Make sure that the thumb drive is formatted in FAT32 not NTFS.
On the thumb drive, create folder named "Garmin".
Copy gmapsupp.img into Garmin folder.
Rename gmapsupp.img to gmapprom.img <-- IMPORTANT (lower case and yes it matters).
In the “Garmin” folder create a folder called "JCV"
Copy the junctions file into “JCV” folder. You MUST use the correct matching junction file otherwise the junctions WILL NOT WORK.
I go to Settings>Map>hit the icon with 3 lines and select "update map"
It tells me to insert or reinsert a BLANK USB. I insert my USB and it says "the appropriate data has been written to my drive please visit the website to update"

I tried everything but nothing worked.
2013 device. downgraded to 33x. tried unlocked maps of 2014.30/40 and 2015.10/20......no luck at all. it must be a guide that works for us all

I wonder if anyone has had success with updating maps with 44.xx.xx.
Has anyone found 44.00.0x firmware?
I'd hate to go back to 33.xx.xx, update maps, then go to 50.xx.xx.
Some folks seem to be able to update maps at 43.xx.xx, but it appears nothing from 44.xx.xx on.

Thank you very much Bearkat!
What most people don't know is that the update 50.00.17 won't update the gps firmware "PND did not update!" (but it will neither affect your actual gps firmware)
it won't update maps, what the f$%&$%
Thank you very much again (I'm stuck @ gps 3.00 version from the 33.xx)

You must do it @ version 33.xx
have ready a 4gb or greater usb formatted to fat 32.
then create a new folder called Garmin. then put only the file gmapprom.img
on root create another folder called JCV. then put only (choose only ONE) JCV file from (2014.30, 2014.40 or 2015.10) it's 0k.
AND YOU'RE DONE!!
at the time you put the usb drive to your mygig system (front face of stereo only) be prepared with your jetmouse software, here the instructions: when the system reaches and prompt you to put the code, at your pc or laptop (running jetmouse software) you must enter your exact unit id, which is at system>info or about button 8 digit number, then select, nextep is to leave the option Garmin Mobile XT software unlockode mustblank, the map product id, hit click there and go to the last option (custom) for example the 2014.40 maps is 3187, finally click generate, beware of not to hit the exit button. write the 25 character code, and put it on your mygig. AND YOU DID IT!!! athend the system will display an error message but don't worry, once the process is done you could check it by yourself that the map by itself is updated, and also you could check the version on maps, and info.
