Here's another thread on the topic.
Scratch that. its working. Cut the jeep off and back on again. seems to be ok.
I was able to get the 2014.10 maps and the D3060100A.JCV files loaded on the unit. The maps work fine but no junction views?? looking back through this thread I see alot of people have not gotten them to work??
It should work for all 430N RHB.
I will find a way to make it downloadeable. Might be tricky since it is 2,5G

|nubby105||I just updated to 2014.30 and it's working fine, seems to have a few more junction views (after dowgrading to 33.x.x). My only issue is the channel art wasn't showing up after upgrading to 50.x.x. I re did the update and got my channel art back, but this time it was missing the "Jeep" on top of the channel art. Next time I have a few extra hours to kill I will try the 50.x.x again.|

I learned a lot from this tread but it would not work for me.
I found a way to do update the radio software and maps at the same time.
This is the somewhat easy way to do it. (or just less painful)
This is for someone who knows his way around a computer.
1. First you need a copy of the radio software update. (I used the last 50.00.07)
2. Download the latest copy of Garmin City Navigator North America NT Unlocked. (I used 2014.10)
Here is the tricky step:
3. Mount the .ISO file on a virtual drive (I used Daemon tool. Its free) and open it to see its content. Copy all the file to a new folder on your computer. Lets call this Folder "Radio Update"
4. Copy the file gmapsupp.img from the newly download folder "Garmin City Navigator North America NT" to the folder called "Garmin" inside the "Radio Update" folder. Once copied inside the "Garmin" folder, rename it gmapprom.img. (the one inside the "Garmin" folder)
5. (optional) if you have the junction view files, create a folder called JCV folder inside the "Garmin" folder and copie the JCV file in there.
6. Now you need to burn the content of the "Radio Update" folder on a DVD. Burn all content and not the "Radio Update" folder.
7. Insert the DVD in the radio unit and wait for a long time. It took me almost 2 hours to complete all updates.
Do this update with the vehicle running or a charger on the battery. You can not interrupt the process. Starting the vehicle will interrupt the process.
It did not ask me for a code for the maps.
This process updated all my maps and the radio software at the same time.
I tried to make those instructions easy.
It updated from 50.xx.xx. No need to downgrade software.

Where do I find my "unit id" number?
Also can someone confirm fid number for 2014.10 map

|stevey5036||Well, I attempted to do the map update tonight and it was unsuccessful. After downgrading from 50.x to 33.x and popping in the flash drive, it sat at 'Reading Files' for over two hours. Within 30 seconds of plugging the flash drive in, the activity indicator stopped blinking. I have no idea if it was actually doing anything during that time or not. I used a 32GB USB 3.0 Kingston HyperX flash drive, so speed shouldn't have been an issue (even though the head unit doesn't have a 3.0 port). Went back to 50.x, I think I'll just wait for the next batch of updates for the RHB unit.|

|Mack207||Ignore the post above. The files i downloaded were in a .7z format, which macs don't recognize. You have to have a PC or run Parallels Desktop on a Mac to get this to work.|

|Mack207||Allright, 3 hours later and i have firmware 33.xx.xx. Still cant get the .img and jcv files to work.|

|Mack207||I am not technologically illiterate in the least, but this is beyond me. I only have a mac, so no jetmouse or checksum. I have tried several unlocked files, and still nothing. What are the steps to downgrading, installing, and upgrading. I cant seem to locate the JCV files either...|

wrong generate button
Go to the lower portion of the unlock generator, select map product "custom mapset", enter the FID, then click the lower "Generate" button
I pulled my hair out for weeks until I figured that out

I am downloading 2014.30 now, just trying to confirm the JCV file

Brand new 2014 Polar edition owner here.. I was digging around the navigation menus and I'm not able to even find the map version that is installed. I am running the 50.x.x firmware and attempted to upgrade to 2014.10 with matching JCV file but got some kind of failed message. I'm thinking it might already be installed? I tried the engineering menu trick but couldn't get that to work either.
I also noticed 2014.30 was recently released.. Anyone give this a shot? As far as downgrading to 3x.xx.. all I need to do is burn the ISO and pop it in?
|11-19-2013 02:31 PM|
not sure about 2014.10
|11-16-2013 04:20 PM|
2011 Durango Crew
upgraded fro 22 to 33 firmware
Every time I try to update the maps, the unit requires me to enter the unlock key.
I have tried 3 different "unlocked" maps. 2014.10 and 2014.20.
clean, formatted FAT32 usb stick, with Garmin directory and JCV directory.
the unit spends about 20 mins reading the files, then gives me unit ID and asks to enter security code
I have tried the Garmin Unlock Generator 1.5 a dozen times.
the codes do not work
..selected custom mapset, FID 2920 (for the 2014.10 map)
under "Select Software Product", do you select Garmin XT or Garmin PC ?
I assume it is the MAP unlock, and not the SOFTWARE unlock..
could the JCV file be locked?, causing the need for security key?

I have tried and tried to get in to the Developer menu using the hold the middle of the speed circle method. and I get nada.. running version 44.xx.xx on a 2013 Wrangler. any idea why this is not working..
Just for thoroughness:
1. navigate to map view.
2. tap the lower right hand corner of map (speed indication).
3 presented screen is split view (Round Speed Circle | Milage,Bearing, etc.).
4. tap and hold finger on the center of the speed circle for >10sec - and viola, engineering menu.
Are those steps correct??

|Bearkat||Can anyone confirm that this will work with the 2014.20 maps and D3060110A.jcv on the 43.00.13 firmware on my 2013 430N RHB?|

|Kaisoboy||So I downloaded the correct files including firmware 33.x.x. Where do I get 50.x.x firmware after I install the map and junction files?|
|10-22-2013 11:02 PM|
|solodogg||glad it worked out for you too 2014.20 for me gave me I-69 in Southern Indiana that 2014.10 did not have, so it was well worth figuring this out.|
|10-22-2013 08:48 PM|
I was previously using D3060110A.jcv with the 2014.10 maps (not entirely sure why but it was mentioned previously in this thread to do that), DO NOT do that. Use D3060100A.jcv with the 2014.10 maps or D3060110A.jcv with the 2014.20 maps.
Downgraded to 33.x.x, map update (with the correctly matched JCV file), upgraded to 50.x.x and i've confirmed my junctions work. If you want to test it, set a destination where you would expect to see a junction (such as a highway off ramp). Once calculated, press the top of the screen and it will show you each step of the directions. Select the first one and scroll through until you see the "junction button" light up. BAM there is your junction and you have confirmed it's been installed incorrectly.
Hope this info helps!
