runit3 These are not private roads. There is a state maintained shooting range at the head of the trails. All of the trails after are maintained by locals and the power company, even the power company owned land allows campsites and the trails run all the way down into the town of Stevenson. If you're in the Columbia George on a trail you have an extremely high chance of running into some powerlines or wind turbines :-/

Really they are private up in Washington? Down here in AZ the power companies have the corridor no matter what agency owns/manages the land, but the power and gas line roads are still open to public traverse.

soundline You are aware most of those are private roads? Besides, there's lots of really cool trails to go on in WA where you won't have power poles in your pics.
