Just installed mine. Great idea but lacks quality. My header panel was bent, missing hardware, missing instructions, and the tie down holes are a little off.
But with a little fab work, and about 3.5 hours it turned out well, very ridged when it's together and looks good. So if your handy and don't mind fixing a few problems it's great.

I just got mine in the mail today and much like the OP the support bar for the center section is bent all to hell. Both ends are bent 90 degrees from their intended angle, one up and the other pinched down. So far it seems Aries is going to be taking care of it quickly so I am happy with that and I wasn't installing it today so no huge deal there either. I have the all aluminum version and I think it's going to be a winner considering all the things the OP mentioned and the lightweight nature of the product is nice. Everything I've added so far adds significant weight, it will be nice to install something that is much lighter then the tuffy deck I had. The Tuffy deck that was on my Jeep had a broken weld that Tuffy took care of me with so both options have come damaged in shipping but so far both look like they will take care of it.
I plan on doing a comparison thread after I get the Aries on for a couple weeks to compare to last summer with the Tuffy and then keep the one I like best.

Thanks to mcstray for posting this. I had a similar experience. My lid arrived beat up as well. To their credit, Aries shipped me a new one promptly without giving me a hard time. While the new one arrived unbent, it is a very difficult install with the hard top. My intent was to leave the deck on all the time, with a tonneau cover over it in the summer and with the hard top in winter. Never got around to the tonneau. But installing the hard top over the deck is just painful. It takes a 20 min job and turns it into almost an hour. And I noticed last week that the deck is scratching the tailgate.
Perhaps someone else has had better luck?

|mattdenney07||I'd say contact Aries directly and grab their input on the situation and report back here if you could. I've heard nothing but good things about them for the most part. My first thought when I saw your pictures was obviously poor construction, but I'd like to hear some kind of redemption story. If Morris4x4 was stocking it, maybe it was damaged en route to their warehouse, or damaged on the way to you. Let us know and give them a chance!|

A little more height from floor to deck. The recessed tray on Tuffy seemed to give you just a bit less room inside. Important since 90% of time I'll be stuffing gear inside, not on top.
Already has tie downs for the few times I will stack things on top.
Better looking without those silver colored bolts.
Like the top load capability.
From looking at both installations, just looked as if it would be harder to break into.

|gr8fulKID||Just outta curiosity, what made you go with this product instead of the tuffy ?|

Those tabs in pic 3 and 4 are supposed to be flat in order to bolt to the tub. One was bent about 30 degrees bent and the other was at 90. The weld was so bad on one that it fell apart in my hand so it couldn't even be bent into the right position. You can tell by the up close shot that it was never properly joined.
So aggravating to finally have a day off to get this done and realize there's no way it can be installed.
And it wasn't cheap.
Aries Security Cargo Lid, Aluminum, Black Textured Powder Coat AAA-ALC25001 1 $525.99
Got it from Morris 4x4 center so hopefully they will ship me replacement. Will have to check tomorrow after holiday is over.

Aries Security Lid Poorly Made
I've been looking forward to getting my Aries Security Lid installed. Didn't take me long to realize it wasn't going to happen. Pieces arrived bowed and bent. One weld was so poorly done the piece fell apart in my hand. No keys included for the lock.
Will call them tomorrow to see what can be done. Paid a bunch of money and hoping they will make it right.
