Fabtech doesn't even specialize in Jeeps. The geometry is poor. The individual parts used are nothing to write home about. Do a search on them, I can garentee you that for every recommendation you find, you will find a handful of negative reviews as well. If you just want a jacked up street queen though, then it will fit the bill nicely. If you plan on doing some regular moderate and hard wheeling.......you will find out fast how good it really is.
What would I or anyone else gain by telling you if an item is poor or not? Surely no financial gain.
Your best bet is looking for a stock Wrangler......and then doing RESEARCH, reading..........gaining knowledge for YOUR OWN BENEFIT and then modifying it specifically to fit YOUR OWN NEEDS.
Curious, who is this "Guy" who "knows it" and builds jeeps? Does he have a sterling reputation? I know a lot of "guys" who build up Jeeps and other vehicles too..........most are hacks.
I'll give you a good list of mfg's that do have a sterling rep. Currie, Metal Cloak, ARB/OME, Rokmen, Clayton, Poly Performance, Genright. Not a huge list.

|AOR||Don't forget to save some money for new gears. Fabtech is over priced for what you get. Check it out and see if you like it. You can always change out joints and go lower springs.|

|kdawgg11||I do appreciate the input but I can't win for losing every jeep I find it there is something wrong with it the first one was salvage I agree with you all on that one the other one was 10 mins from home and it cost to much (which I haven't heard from them back so I don't guess the numbers match up which that's fine) and this one has everything I don't have to do noting but put a CD player to hook my iPod in it has a 6 disc CD player in it. In theory I want a stock LJ with a hard top and soft top and low miles but I can't find any in my area and the ones that are there high I am not saying I will buy this one either but I am going to check it out and maybe work out a deal if not the search continues|

|kdawgg11||I would think a 5k suspension kit would be a good one you all hate on all suspension I mention skyjacker before and you say trash and now fabtech these company have been in business a long time if they sucked wouldn't they be gone by now? What suspension do you all have to run to be a "good" company or kit? I will check it out and test drive it but a guy that knows it and builds jeep said it looks to be build good and the kit looked to be done right not a shade tree job I don't know until I check it out|

|NJO||To the OP: Look for a clean STOCK LJ to purchase. Always the best way to go. 9 out of 10 "modded" jeeps are loaded with junk parts and poor planning integration. Go stock bro, build it up yourself after you have improved your knowledge base and have months of diligent research in place.|

Check out fabtech suspensions before you buy it. There are a ton of things that need to upgraded before running 36's and a 6" lift.
Steering upgraded? Brakes upgraded? Axle shafts? Gears? Trussed?
Just because its big and looks cool doesn't mean it's set up correctly.
I agree with the above post. Avoid fabtech.

When I was looking, I found a screaming deal on a 06 Rubicon w/ a salvage title. But , my insurance company would only insure a vehicle w/ salvage title for liability only. I wasn't interested in having a 10K vehicle w/ only liability insurance.
I waited patiently, and finally found an unmodified 05 Rubicon LJ w/ 63K miles for $16K. Yes, in Kentucky that is below market value.

|kdawgg11||Ok that's fine and blunt is perfectly fine with me and i get what you are saying. So all salvage vehicles are junk basically. I never bought one so I have no clue but there are a lot of people buys them an fixes them up and sells them or keeps them I know there not perfect but a new one isn't either and I guess you can get the lemon one as well I just asking opinions and waving the pro and cons and I have no problem waiting for the right one and I am sure the next one I find I will ask again I do appreciate the help and I will take yours all advise and pass on it|

Ok.. I have tried to be as nice as possible.. Let me be blunt.
If you cheap out and buy some rebuilt salvaged nightmare. You will most likely end up spending more money chasing problems than if you just cough up the extra dough and get a good one.
Pay me now or pay me later

I understand what your saying and everybody I talk agrees with you. But looking at prices people are asking the same weather there salvage or not that is what got me confused actually he is about 4k cheaper on his price than 3 or 4 others I have looked up and to hear the banks say they don't care If it was salvage or not they just go by the book has be baffled cause you would think cheaper and not worth as much but at least for jeeps there not. I bought another report and tracks it some more. The guy that has already put 5k driving it everyday in 2 months and he hasn't had any issues and to see pics on how clean the engine is and it doesn't look like it has been off road and it is hard to find not impossible to find a rubicon that isn't rag out I have had a few other options one is a 03 rubicon auto soft top for 16,900 it does have a lift and winch and a 04 for 17 but it has been use and the pics show it has been tested and has a roll cage in it but there not salvage at least I don't think so. Both of them seem interested in trading but what do you all think of those prices for 03-04 rubicons

|Steve2012||Idk about info or pics, they go through 1000's of vehicles. Just my opinion , but I would find something else, that is a potentially very expensive nightmare waiting to happen. Not to mention way overpriced if salvaged and tmu branded title.|

|Steve2012||They pretty much auction insurance totals and salvaged vehicles to wrecking yards or whoever is going to rebuild it. I would say pretty sure it was totaled and rebuilt, which explains the "custom paint" job|

Did you already buy the green jeep? It kinda seems like you are having buyers remorse
