|sublimemaze||anyone have any info on the wheel spacers, 1 vs 1.25 inch with the stock 15x7 wheels, not the 'canyon' but the more rounded spoke ones. i plan on running 31x10.5x15's my only concern is the wheels rubbing on body pannels with the spacers.|

I have decided on the 2 inch lift kit above, as shown here
Im hoping that the shocks included are fairly stiff, because i HATE the wheel hop i get when losing traction in sand or the like.
Now i found out my factory rims are 15x7, not 15x8, so will 31x10.5x15LT's still be OK?
I am also trying to decide between 1 and 1.25 inch wheel spacers. Ive thought about 1.25 on the rear and 1.0 on the front. Does anyone have any experience with putting spacers all around for extra clearance and wider wheel base on the factory rims? The only thing im concerned about is the front wheels rubbing on either the bumper caps on the front, or the fender flares on the back at full steering lock.

|kdukes4||ya i have the 2"BB on right now and if all goes well, i plan to probably do the 1"BL and then put on 33's next summer. I wasn't able to check out the links you had at work but after looking at them now, those are pretty much exactly what i recommended. however, i'd stay away from both of those two kits. rough country shocks are known to ride kinda stiff, and i've never seen that other kit. I and the majority of people would probably recommend either the skyjacker BB kit or the Rubicon Express BB kit. you really don't need all of those bumpstops and whatnot, they just a little extra time to the installation. also, check out rockyroad outfitters, they have a kit too with their own shocks which ride pretty soft that runs around $235 i think. for the money though, the skyjacker hydros are awesome, i love them. when it comes to shocks, i say either spend the dough and get OME's or rancho9000's, or keep it cheap and do the skyjackers. those three products give you the best bang for your buck. from my perspective, for what you spend and what you get from the products in between those three brands doesn't even out, unless you go with doescth teck. Ironman will support that.|

also a 2" BB and 1" BL won't throw off much of anything regarding stability and safety while driving.

This is the kit that i am thinking about purchasing, as it has everything that i believe i need:

It is now between those two unless i get other opinions here.
With the 2 inch you get the sway bar links that are apparently longer and quck disconnect, with the 2.5 you get new springs rather than shims, but no sway bar link things.
Which would be more desirable?
Also, does anyone know how much this kit drops the transfer case? Will that negate my lift by much? -Thanks

2-3 inch budget lift options for a daily driver
I am the daily driver of a 1997 TJ Sahara. When i go on some trails to get to hunting locations and the like, i am noticing that my front differential and gas tank and scraping on small fallen trees, and sometimes in nothing more than thick dirt. I need something for more ground clearence, but nothing for recreational type mudding or crawling.
I have looked at some 2 and 3 inch 'kits' on ebay and need some educating from people who actually know something about this stuff.
I am aiming to run 31x10.5x15's on my stock 8 inch rims. I have seen this done at the tire shop where i work on factory TJ's, but the clearance to that spring plate on the driver rear really scares me with this setup, not to mention the still marginal clearance on the front diff.
The 1 7/8 inch shims along all around are a tad insufficent looking for my taste and budget, and i would like the option to run 33's with a 1 inch body lift in the future if i see fit. The 2 inch kits look nice, as do the 3 inch so here are my questions.
The 2 inch kits i have seen range from 2 inch shims with rear 'shock relocatiors' to 2 inch shims, new shocks, and new bump stops.
The 3 inch kits range from: 3 inch shims, shocks, and bump stops. to: new springs, new shocks, extended sway bar links, transfer case drop, and bump stops. My questions are, do you need shocks with true 2 inch shim lifts? If you get shocks do you still need the shock mount relocation with 2 inch kits? i know i want extended bump stops weather or not i go with 2 or 3 inches. but is any of that other stuff needed with 2 inches? what about 2 inches of suspention then one inch of body?
Do the 3 inch kits that are just shocks, shims, and bump stops suck? What do the sway bar links, transfer case drops, steering buffers ect that are in the more expensive 3 inch kits really achieve and are they required to not brake your shit?
Also, i was thinking about getting 1.25 inch aluminum wheel spacers all arround, as i know i would need at least a half inch on the rear to clear that spring mount plate, are there any problems with say a 2-3 inch total lift, 31x10.5x15's and 1.25 inch wheel spacers? Also, what is with raising the front 3 inches and the rear 2 inches? If i do the 2 inches will 33's fit? will they fit my factory 8 inch rims OK? (say 33x11.5x15's?)
Im looking for a practical solution to my weekend hunting trips to help clear logs and stuff, while keeping my daily driver capibilty intact and not causing stress on my remaining suspentioin parts/braking stuff. -Thanks in advance for any info.
