This one will swivel up enough to light the shifter area well if needed...
This one is the Dash Cubby... I can reach it fron the driver's seat easily...

I have a 2013 JKUR, and one of the first things I noticed, was the lack of any lighting in the Dash Cubby, and the Console Deep Cubby.
Thought briefly about installing some hardwired lights in each. With the CANbuss being what it is, and my distaste for white light in the dark, I went looking for an alternative.
Bought 2 Princeton Tec FRED Hero Headlamps. About $25.00 each. They use 3 AAA batteries. First press of button gets you "low red", second press gets you "high red". If your first press is 2 seconds long, you get "low white" and second press gets you "high white". Third press always goes to off.
I took them apart (removed the light head from the base) and used a hot air gun to take the slight curve out of the base and make them flat. Do this carefully and all will go well...it would be possible to overheat them, just be careful. Then re-assemble the base to the light head...(Phillips Head Screws).
A couple of strips of VHB Double Stick tape.
Next post for the "done" pictures.

Here are a few mods I've done, some mentioned some not.
1) 3/4" pipe insulation on top bow
2) Krylon fusioned the flares
3) Hand throttle
4) Dome light kill switch (fuse taps in the #4 fuse port inline fuse and a switch)
5) Top prop (~4-5' 1" pic pipe 2 3x1 reducing tees (or bondable saddles if you can find them) flex into place between rollbar extensions and eliminate the puddle over the front seats).
6) In cab winch controls (16/3 wire (old extension cord works great) safety switch and a spdt switch (single pole double throw)
7) Pencil beam spotlights (GE 4509 bulb (available at Napa) par 36 housings (harbor freight work lights) These lights are commonly used as aircraft landing lights.
