In another mopar!
Hey guys, my name is Luc, I'm 19 and I'll be 20 in December.
A couple weeks ago I purchased a 1989 Jeep YJ with the 4.2L AMC inline6.
The odo reads 2518xx KM and the engine misfires! (needs plugs and wires).
Unfortunately, as it sits the Jeep is completely unfit for the road. The brakes are dead, there's no floors on the driver side, the trunk floor is starting to rust through as well.
The harder you slam the doors shut, the more rust flakes off! It's sat for 5 years and the body really suffered from it.
I'm hoping the tub is salvageable, but if it isn't I really don't have much choice but to buy a new one, or find a used one.
The first step of course, before I put in -any- money though is to take the tub off and check if the frame is still solid enough to work with. Once I know it is, then I'll start dumping money into the Jeep with the intents of doing a complete body off restoration! I'm debating betwen 31's and 33s as I'd like to keep it a driver but also a fun toy.
This is the 2nd mopar I've got my grubby hands on!
I've been daily driving a 5.9L AWD Dodge Durango for the past... 16 or so months. Come september I have to give it back to my parents though so me and my 'baby' will be parting ways! Then, all my love can go towards the Jeep!
I'm very excited to get this Jeep started because this is my first project car and I'm a Game Development and entrepreneurship student in university. Two completely unrelated fields of two completely different type of persons!
As obliged, here's a picture of the Jeep on the trailer after getting it to my parents house! Later that day it made it's way to my university house.
... and because it's a mopar (I'm a mopar kind of guy) here's a sexy picture of the Durango! (large pic warning). For this beauty, I am an active member on Dakota-Durango.com
A few mods I have done to it are a 750watt RMS 15inch solo basic L5 kicker sub, a bored out 52mm throttlebody and a 14inch round, 2.5inch tall K&N air filter (old school!) The rims are also from a 2000 durango even though this one is a 2001. The tail pipe isn't factory either and the driver side and passenger side doors are debadged. She's nothing special but she's unique
