1997 TJ Sahara
So I just bought this Jeep and 3 days into it I get the check engine light. I cycle the key and here are the fault codes that I get:
12 Direct battery input to PCM was disconnected within the last 50 Key-on cycles.
31 An open or shorted condition detected in the A/C clutch relay circuit. Insufficient or excessive vapor flow detected during evaporative emission system operation.
55 Completion of fault code display on Check Engine lamp.
Now, I know from reading everything I could on here that 12 and 55 are nothing to worry about since they are just info, no worries on those two. But 31 is the one that has got me stumped. I checked the obvious things that could lead to insuffcient vapor flow such as tight gas cap and the vaccum lines that goes from underneath the throttle body to the evap cannister.
My questions are:
a) could this error be thrown due to my exhaust leak (I've yet to find it but suspect it is my header, or
b) what else could be causing this????
I really don't know much about emissions systems to figure this one out so if anyone has any insight I'd greatly appreciate it.
BTW- I did try to hook it up to a scanner but there was no communication.
