PT4WDL Good pick, especially if you are just planning to park the RV and go see the sites. They are pretty darn tuff trucks and the Rubi may have been over kill for you.

Yaezu Enjoy it.... Great pick!

mrcarcrazy Good choice. You'll love it I'm sure!

I like my jeep almost as much as my other car (which was my dream car for a number of years)....so that's really saying something. Jeeps are neat vehicles.

njkeagle For 5K more I would go with the Rubicon if you are able to spend the cash. I mean 80k less and Dana 44. I mean the other will be fine but if you put the two together and think about it I think it will worth the extra 5K. Unless the Rubicon is bit up.

It had been used as a daily driver by a woman who drove it 100 miles to work every day. Very happy with it so far.

They are so very tough.
Therefore, I say go the inexpensive direction. (i won't say the word "cheap")
Thanks for all the advise. I ended up buying an 02 with 100,000 miles on it. It came with both a hard and soft top.

The Rubicon will always be the prime choice, but will always be more money. Like you said 5000 more. I think what it will come down to is what your willing to spend and how much are the Rubicons options worth to you?

Edit- If it was my choice and I had the money to spend I would go for the Rubicon considering the low mileage, 14k right??
Now that I look at my notes the price on the Rubicon was $17,000 with 24,000 miles.

I have attached a couple of pictures. Does this look like it has been lifted? The tires appear to be Wrangler LT245/75R16.

4Jeepn I had 212k on my last 4.0L ran great.. no leaks...etc. For the two you mentioned if money was not an issue I would look into the Rubicon as well. Has lots of stuff you may not use, but sure is nice to have. Do not get a 4 banger with an auto.. snails go faster. Other than that no real bad years etc with the TJ.

New to Jeeps, need some advice.

I am in the market for a Jeep to pull behind my motorhome. It will be mainly used on trips that we take to Idaho, Montana and Wyoming. I have not decided if I should get a TJ or YK series 2 door or 4 door.

Are there any particular models to stay away from? I have a line on a clean 2002 with 100,000 miles for $8900. With that many miles can I expect trouble in the future. I also found a 2004 Rubicon with 14,000 miles that is in nice shape but about $5000 more.

Thanks for the input.
