amerijeep That's cool. I was just wondering why you would think that. I'll go along with that reasoning.

Belts, any advice?

Awwww.. I missed you guys too! Glad to know it's an easy fix.. Next to fix is the steering dampner. I have a bad habit of plowing over speedbumps. lol.

bluvikng After reading all of your struggles with diagnosing your stereo, it did sound like it was blown. Missed you around here. Glad you found your way back, to the only sane place on the net......little snicker here. As stated above, it is a pretty simple task, and do check the idler pulley. Sometimes the bearings go out in them.

khenderson replacing the belt is really straight-forward. all you gots to do is loosen the idler pulley bolt and that will drop the idler pulley to give slack in the belt. pull the belt off. put new belt on. tighten idler pulley back. drink a beer and relax cause that was hard work!

Belts, any advice?

I have to replace the serpentine belt. It's ugly. Splitting.. making ungodly sounds.. it's just plain embarrassing. So, any tips or anything I should know before I get started?

BTW, sorry I've been away for a while. School gets in the way of my forum life. I'm happy to update on my stereo situation if anyone still remembers. For my birthday, my jeep was stolen (by my fiance) and replaced with a functional stereo in it. Turns out, I blew the stereo, not a relay.
