Jerry Bransford The shift knob is threaded onto the shift lever and a lock nut under the shift pattern prevent it from turning. The locknut is accessable by carefully prying the shift pattern out of the knob. If the knob is tight, you can just reinsert the shift pattern so it is straight but if the knob ever gets loose or needs to be removed, you now know how to take care of it.

mudslinger150 that cap with the shift pattern on it is removeable. so you can just pop the cap off and spin it around to where you want it. For if you would like to remove the knob in the future: Under that cap you will find a nut, that nut is whats holding the knob onto the stick. the end of the stick it threaded, the knob goes on the stick and the nut holds it into place. loosen up the nut, spin your knob off and then you can put on a sick grenade knob or skull knob.

005ruby i have an 05 with a six speed mine just unscrews. just takes alot of a** to get it to move tho

Upside down shift knob - I can't figure it out

So guys, How do I remove the shift knob on a 5spd M/T?

I took a profile shot, encase there's more than one design

I've twisted, pulled, squeezed the sides and pulled....I can't figure this one out.

Its a 2001 TJ
