Order two of each item above.
Will these fit a '97 as well?

My dealer wants $12 x 2 and $5 x 2. Too much?

lancetkenyon Whew! I thought this thread was going to be about breast reductions with the way I read the title......

Hawaii 5-0 Got my flat caps at the dealer today for $6 and change.

kpool I cut the ends off at 30 degrees. Then cut and welded some plates to cover the end.

Ask them to look up the bumper end caps for a 2006 Jeep Wrangler "X". They have to have that in their listings. The "X" had no jugs, just the caps.

drivebytruckerz I had my dealer order them. You're probably dealing with incompetence.. Try another dealer or buy them online.

Those must have been the gold plated ones.
The caps didn't show up here until the 2006 "X" came out. They are plastic and I used the screws from the "milk jugs" to install mine. Guess you could also used the plastic "push in" type fasteners. Then there's always J-D Weld, gotta love that stuff, but I wouldn't use it there.

InfernoGirl What you need are the end caps for an '06. They are less than $8 a pair from most dealers. If you can't find them, let me know and I'll get you a pair and send them to you.... You really shouldn't even need the part #.... They are plastic, fwiw...

drivebytruckerz There's a part number on this thread. I used it and got them for 3.50 each.

Ageless Stranger The only picture I saw was a cut up stock bumper.
06-16-2010 03:34 AM
jeepr is that a cut up stock bumper or a new one?
09-27-2009 05:15 PM
theducman I think this tread just saved me some dough. I wanted to get a new bumber but I like the way the stock one looks without the jugs. Now, I just need a bar to mout my new fogs??

InfernoGirl Changing the front end caps is the best thing I've done for my Jeep so far.... Cost $7.70 for the Mopar parts from my dealer. The hardest part was taking off the old milk jugs. 9 years of mud and crud pretty much destroyed the little clip thing inside them. Ended up kicking them off, since the clips just spun around on the bottom. Save as many of the clips as you can, I know you need at least 4, maybe more. I ended up using some lock nuts and nuts to hold the unused screws in the top of the bumper, cause I didn't like the look of the empty holes.

NWPATJ Sounds good going to call dealer tomorrow. Called today but they wouldn't pick up. I saw them at a car show and thought they were cool as hell. Beats changing bumpers right now. I really don't like the way the back looks but I can live with that.

WranglerXDave Glock22ed,

Thanks for sharing that!!!! I was also looking to clean up the look of my bumpers until I can afford something nicer/better!! Never knew those existed!!!

glock22ed I just put on the front and back end caps. Cheap investment until I can afford new bumpers. Cleans up the look of the bumpers.

Here ya go! I used a combination of the overpriced plastic screw things and the original endcap screws.

Barrie I just ordered the front end caps for mine today, $3.95ea, from the dealer.

agreed.. i bought both front and back flat caps and only put on the fronts..

without the back jugs on.. your more likely to do damage to the back corners.. they are stayin on until i can afford a new rear bumper..

oh and its like 11-12$ a set at the jeep dealership

That's what I did.

Triple88a all they do is just cover up the gap. If you're thinking of staying with the stock front bumper i'd say its worth the couple of bucks as it does give you clean look however if you're planning on a new one.. why waste money....

nicosuave Thanks Trip. I have my milkjugs taken off and don't mind the way the front bumper looks without those caps. I don't think it's really worth it to spend money on those caps.
