i have also used an iphone 5 for a while with the jeep and it works fine except for the issues above. i have no idea what the issue is in your case. each phone uses a different bluetooth stack and its very hard to diagnose. do you have a very large phonebook? if you could take a video of it happening that would probably be really helpful and also help you with the dealer.
Thanks for the reply dalearyous...that's the kind of info I was looking for.

The phone book on my wife's Nokia 920 is pretty small and I don't think she has it set to download...which is another issue with the HU, while pairing it will sometimes ask to download and sometimes not. Anyhow, the issues are not isolated to when the HU is firing up. I've seen it happen after we've been driving for over an hour and decided to get brave and select her phone as an input.

Looks like there is finally a software update for the 730 that came out about 4 days ago so maybe that'll help...even though my issues are not on the TSB. If nothing else it sounds like the 430 would be a viable option.

3PedalMINI My brother and I have the HTC 8X (windows phone) and have not had a single issue with streaming. He doesnt use hands free though, just streaming spotify.

Yes, the phone can be paired.

Yes, I beleive that phone calls (in and out) as well as audio texting (in and out) work for the most part.

So the problem really is around media streaming. If the phone is selected as an input device from the HU results vary, but always end up bad. We might be able to stream for a while, then the HU will lock up. We might be able to see artisit information on the HU, or not...then it'll lock up. Maybe just the HU will lock up and require the Jeep to be turned off and left to stand until it resets itself or it might lock up the phone too. Almost all the time all buttons on the HU will be inoperable but redundent controls on the steering wheel will still work...until it locks up. Selecting the phone as the input device is pertty much certain death.

You can successfully "pair" your phone with the HU?

You can reliably "link" your now paired phone with the HU each time you start your JKUS?

You can reliable use the "handsfree" profile (make/receive calls)?

Is only the "streaming" (A2DP) profile that gives you problems? When it does, do you also loose "handsfree", or even possibly your "pairing"?

430N and Bluetooth/Windows Phone 8

The 730N in my wife's JKUS is having all the same problems that the rest of you are. Most irritating of course is the Bluetooth looking up the HU and sometimes the phone.

My dealership has replaced the entire HU as part of troubleshooting, and of course it made no difference. All the same bad behaviors are still present. I am still working with the dealer and have escalated to Chrysler as well...I am not going to settle for a $1900 pos that doesn't do what it's supposed to do. I am looking ahead to options when they admit they can't make the 730N work without a substantial software update that doesn't exist. One of my options may be 'down grading' to a 430N.

So, my question is for those of you that have the 430N and specifically those that also own Window's Phones. Are you having any Bluetooth streaming issues? Any issues with the HU at all? USB connectivity? Feel free to comment even if you use a different phone for streaming. Feel free to keep your opinion to yourself if you have anything negative to say about Window's Phone or Microsoft.
