This here bit:
Some people get longer shackles - it's a cheap way to get a bit of lift. But since you're only lifting from one side, you only get 50% of the extra length as lift (a 3" longer shackle will only lift you 1.5"). Long shackles can give seriously bad road manners.
Some people get stronger shackles, some get greasable ones. Some reverse the shackles on the front, so they're in the back of the spring. Some get fancy reversing-shackles that stay in the front of the spring, but fold the 'wrong' way.
They are a part that takes a lot of stress, so new ones are not unreasonable.

They are what holds the spring on one end and then connect to the spring hanger/frame end on the jeep. Some look like an "H". Yours appear to be the stock ones.

suspension shackles ?
Excuse my ignorance but what are they, or what do they look like ?
Is there another name for them...
I was told that could be part of my problem but I cant find a listing for them on the parts diagram I have.
