MR.CLIFFORD I wouldn't try anyone else until you ask them honestly. Every time you apply somewhere else you will get another hit on your credit report. The more you get turned down the less likely anyone will be to loan money to you.

Walk into a bank and tell them the truth. Other places have turned you down for lack of credit history. If they are going to do the same don't fill out the app and move to the next place until someone will loan to you.

csamn2007 I would try USAA, they are a great bank. That is the only place i could get a loan do to my lack of credit history.

NeitherFanboy Happened to me at one dealer ... Mercedes Benz dealer, actually. They offered me $6000 trade-in on my MB, and the Jeep was only $8000 (plus tax, etc) ... but they said the amount left to finance was TOO SMALL for any of their finance companies to deal with, so cash only. Ended up at another dealer with a jeep of the same price and they had no problem financing the balance.

jdhallissey I feel your pain. Try Bank of america. Chase and so on. The bigger banks might let you do it.

Loan issues?

So, after months of searching, I found my IDEAL wrangler... $9200. 2001. Green, hard top, cruise control, low mileage...perfect. No problem. I can make a down payment of $4500, take out a loan for $5k, sell my Explorer, pay most of the loan off, everyone is happy....

The economy sucks.
I got turned down for the loan due to my "lack of credit history", even with a cosigner.

It's absolute CRAP. How is it that my comrades were able to take out $50,000 in student loans as an 18 year old with "no credit" - but as a self-employed college graduate I can't even take out one measly $5,000 loan that I WILL be able to pay off in under 2 years?

Anyone else have similar issues?!
