|TOW II||The one I’m looking at is an X model with cloth seats, auto, and they just put new 17” chrome wheels w/ Toyo AT tires (5). When I originally located it, it had the stock steel wheels, and I was good with that. Now they’ve added the ‘bling’ I guess is a plus, but something I could have done over time. You guys are right about TX dealers not offering much incentive, and not much choice for that matter. I started out looking for just a smaller vehicle to drive daily that will get better mileage than my pickup, but I don’t like cars, and I just bought the wife a new SUV in ’07. So I really don’t need another truck, or SUV. A buddy at work just bought an ’06 Wrangler, and I really like it. I know they don’t get much better MPG than my truck, but what the heck, I’ve always wanted a 4WD. I figured I could get just a base model in the low $20s and customize her over time, but with my must haves; auto trans, full doors, and cloth seats, don’t know if that’s doable. This used one fits the bill.|

I'm just outside of San Antonio, and the Jeep Dealers aren't knocking off much on the New Jeep prices. I bought mine in July, and bought it in SA, as my local Dealer didn't have a Yellow one available. The SA Dealer had one Yellow one left, so I grabbed it. I don't know if it's Texas in general, but there aren't many "Good Deals" in this area either.
What are you looking to buy? The Unlimited 4-Dr, or the 2-Dr? Also, the '07 you're looking at, what model is it for $19K? "X", "Sahara", or "Rubicon"?
Best of Luck in your Search!

|TOW II||I've actually looked at three similar wranglers in a row for the same price and all had approx 40,000 mi, which is way too many miles for me. I'm buying this as a 'second car' but fully expect it to be my daily driver.|

I was in the exact same boat...I didn't need to buy right away so i was going to wait for the options I wanted (silver, hard top, manual). one month of looking and one an hour away popped up...2007, 11k miles, $16,724. I have no clue how I got such a good deal but still don't see anything on autotrader nearly as good (btw, it was a dealership at that price). I only have a half year left on the warranty which is the only downfall to buying an '07.
If you find what you are looking for at a price you are comfortable with, JUMP ON IT!!! Jeeps don't go "on Sale" like other undesirable cars so used is the only way to get a good price.

|nickbiers||i would def. grab the 07 if everything checks out well on it.|

It sounds like a steal, especially if it has 4-wheel drive. This person is asking about average $ for it. I would grab it and Grab it fast! Good luck!

|JDsDream||It sounds like you have found a good deal with the 07. It will still have some warranty left and I'm gonna bet that you can't walk away with an 09 or 10 without dropping close to 28,000. I prefer to buy "lightly" used because any problems have usually been worked out. When you start looking at that monthly payment, it just makes a lot of sense to buy used. The minute you take possession of the keys to a new vehicle, you lose $4-5,000. Take it for a good long test drive, highway and offroad. Ask for a Carfax report and all service records on it.|

|nickbiers||most likely 25 or 26 in all honesty. i just got a really good deal on a sahara and it was still about 28|

|nickbiers||ur gonna pay right around 24k for a base model new one with no options, before tax title and license. also i believe the lights are standard on sahara and rubicon and an option on the x. but now in 2010 they are standard on all of them.|

|TOW II||I can wait, in fact I prefer to wait. Just wish I knew what to expect price wise. If a new base model is going to be much more than a low mileage nicer model, then I’m thinking get a slightly used one. BTW the ’07 that I’m looking at has driving lights built into the front bumper. Haven’t seen that on many other wranglers. Any one know if that was an option, or just something that the ‘07s had?|

|keg97||Do you have to buy right now? Supply is off right now but if you can wait a month or two, I'll bet that the great deals will come back again!|

Slightly Used vs. New
Iím looking at an í07 with very low mi. (17000). Itís almost exactly what Iím looking for as far as color / options go. Problem is that at $19,000 Iím wondering if I should get a more base model thatís new. There is not much of a selection of new wranglers in my area í09, or í10, and the dealers sure arenít anxious to make deals. Best I can do right now is 1K off msrp! Iím thinking that most of the Ď09s are gone and they havenít received enough Ď10s yet. I have no idea what to expect to pay for a fairly base í10 model. My only must have is auto trans. If the base model is going to run me much more than 22-24K, then Iím thinking Iíd be better off going w/ the really nice í07.
