|Mafhplayer7715||I sanded it down and used white primer first. I bought the oh so very expensive mopar matching paint and just carefully taped around and painted it. Used several clear coats. My best advice is to let it dry over night or a few days. I don't really paint anything ever and living in Florida I think a lot of the humidity got to it and chipped it off the first go around. I'm very happy with it I'm still trying to tackle the steering wheel trim and am having a hard time getting that nailed down.|

90's Integra's rule! I still have my 98... I just charged up the battery and aired up the tires a few days ago. I take it out every now and then to get my "stick fix".

|jwilson2598||The Mopar paint will work fine, many have used it on interior trim pieces just fine. Just get the chrome off so it will stick and you'll be all set.|

This is it. One should also use plastic specific paints.

|jwilson2598||Not sure if it pries off or not, but definitely needs to have the chrome sanded off to get it to stick properly.|

|Dusthol||Try paint from a hobby shop. The type that the r/c car builders use. Its made for use on plastic.|

Yeah the issue I've had so far is getting the paint to stick on the trim. I worked on it yesterday, took 4 hours to tape it all off (damn OCD) and when I got enough coats on, it chipped right off like cheap nail polish. Do any of you guys know if the steering wheel trim comes off? It would be 100 times easier to sand down and prime it, I just don't want to pry it off and not be able to put it back in. I like the way it would look, if it was done right.

The cluster would require taking apart the unit. I did this in my Honda crx about 16 yrs ago, would never do it again.

|Crush21||Looks like a PT cruiser interior. Never understood why the PTs had painted parts on the interior, literally looked like a 4 year old put it together. And it's pretty simple to pull all those pieces off, just sand them down, buy the mopar spray paint and apply then put on a clear coat. Not to hard just a lot of light coats|

you just brought back terrible memories of my acura integra with painted interior parts... in the '90s. Oh man.

|Crashthings||That does look good, there are some posts threads here that deal with painting interior parts like the vent rings and so forth. Might help.|

JK Apache Interior Mods
Ok guys I'm in love with the interior of the concept Apache. Any help on how to DIY would be greatly appreciated! I have a 2011 cosmos blue with the matching vents so looking more specifically how to match the steering wheel trim and instrument cluster. I have the factory paint from Mopar but whats the best way to paint it? primer? taped off? Thanks guys!
