porkchop71 I have a '92 and this is what mine lookes like the fill is the middle plug. Notice where all the dirt is worn away lol. My seal was leakin forever til I got off the couch and decided to do something about it.

plac OP: Everyone says you use any ATF fluid.

Subscribed, i need to change this fluid also. does the transfer case have an input seal also, or only an output seal?

AzTJ You should have both a fill and drain plug on the back, they migh have a very large hex head instead of a torx like on this picture, but they should be in the same location.

How to top off transfer case fluid?

93 YJ, 4.0 / 5 speed. Have to remove the slip yoke for an output seal replacement and I'm sure it's gonna dribble or dump some fluid (I plan on putting the rear wheels on ramps to try and limit the leakage). If I do dump a ton of fluid out, where do I top it back off, and with what fluid?

I know...I need a shop manual.... But right now I need to keep it from spraying fluid all over the underside - even though it's built in rust protection, LOL.

Off to buy the seal.
