Tazman2 If you still want to run 33 i would replace the whole lift kit that you have and put a new 4" in. it will save you alot of time and a magor headache down the road. i had to help a buddy with his and we finnaly got it done last night had almost the same problem. it might be alot but it will be worth it down the road. and don't put a body lift in, i have one yes theirs alittle bit of differance but unless your going to tuck your tranny, T-case, and gas tank their not worth it. thats what i plan on doing is tuck every thing I have a one inch and I still going to have to cut floor pannels.

Jp90Talon Ah I forgot that she already had the 2" budget lift. Im tired and was thinking how my 2" OME kit came with a TC drop kit that I didnt use.
10-14-2009 09:42 PM
jdhallissey I don't know why you would need a tcase drop for a 2 in lift??????? Changing were the body sits has nothing to do with the driveline either.
10-14-2009 09:41 PM
jdhallissey I have seen one that didn't require anything. To drill 2 holes is much cheaper then a mml kit. The best thing to do is install it if it rubs it rubs. You fix the rub, figure out first before you toss another 100 bucks into it. I am trying to save you money so you can upgrade more

BeepBeepImaJeep yup yupp.

CMEvans79 Any more pic's?
10-14-2009 09:39 PM
Jp90Talon Dont forget that with the MML odds are you can skip the tcase drop kit as well. To me it was just easier.
10-14-2009 09:36 PM
BeepBeepImaJeep with a 1.25 BL, everyone states, drilling a hole to remount the radiator so the shroud can fit or something, id just get the MML and not worry about it.

you have to move the radiator shroud either way, idk if it was drilling or buying a mount for the radiator, either way there more then JUST the BL.
10-14-2009 09:33 PM
jdhallissey closer to stock is better in a way. For what is getting installed you do no drilling.
10-14-2009 09:26 PM
BeepBeepImaJeep i would rather not have my father drill on my jeep parts unless her dad is better than mine, plus getting the geometry closer to stock the better, right?
10-14-2009 09:25 PM
jdhallissey I wouldn't do the mml personally. I truly believe it is a waste of money.

i dont even think i would notice 1inch, do you?
Unless I am mistaken, it is a girls Jeep. Like posted above, take it out a couple of times the way it is. You will be suprised how well it does in the current condition. If you are just looking for a cool vehicle to drive around in, take the top off it. Girls in Jeeps get a ton of attention. Oh, and don't forget to wave.

rookiejeeper First of all, welcome aboard to the best Jeep Wrangler forum on the net!

Take your time and don't rush into anything. Lift kits can be expensive, especially if you have to pay to have them installed.
Wheel your Jeep for awhile and get the feel for it, and enjoy, there's nothing like a Jeep!!

Post some pics of your Jeep when you get a chance.

10-14-2009 06:39 PM
jdhallissey You can run either a 1" or 1.25" they will look the same. They will work the same and give you room for adding armor when you decide to start wheeling it!
10-14-2009 05:36 PM
bumblebee13 dose anyone have experience with a 1" or 1.25" body lift?
can you "see" a difference?
it way cheaper and easier

i just looked at Beepbeepimajeeps post, that black jeep looks awesome! and my jeep looks close in height as his red one!

not bad, but i want some more height and idk if 1 inch will help, ya know?

Hey can we get some help over on Isle 13..........

also im afraid of DW.

If you add a 1" or 1.25" body lift (do not go higher) you'll be well set up to handle 33" tires both on and off road and shouldn't have much in the way of rubbing . . . and it won't break the bank. Be sure to get it off the pavement from time to time . . . it's a Jeep!

BeepBeepImaJeep if i'm correct, thats what ive got! 2" puck lift!
10-14-2009 05:23 PM
motokeen If your not going to leave the road that much just add a 1inch body lift and you should be fine. Even though body lifts suck. You won't be able to notice a 1 inch that bad and it will give your tires a little more room to move. Then just drive it and enjoy.

MR.CLIFFORD looks like a 2" puck to me.
10-14-2009 05:16 PM
motokeen ^I agree looks like a 2inch puck.
10-14-2009 05:13 PM
Schmo I'm guessing that you have a 2" budget boost or spacer lift and that's it. From what I can see it doesn't look like you have a body lift. This is a bit low for 33" tires and you should either have a 4" suspension or add a 1" BL if I guessed correctly as to your current set up. What do you want to accomplish? Are you looking for something to take offroad or more of a cool looking onroad Jeep?

***Looks like we were all typing at the same time . . . amazing how much attention the females get around here!
10-14-2009 05:13 PM
ryt2112 Well, it looks like you already have what is called a Budget Boost by the looks of those spacers between the coil spring and the top of where it usually sits. That would be what is allowing you the 33" tires. I think the body part looks like stock.
If you want to get more height, I would say to move to a regular spring lift and remove the budget boost. If it is done properly, and with decent parts, it will ride as good or better than stock.

And Welcome to the forum
10-14-2009 05:12 PM
MR.CLIFFORD Looks to me like you have a 2" budget boost puck on top of stock coil springs. The body lift looks like stock pieces to me.
10-14-2009 05:11 PM
