stone68 alright, i re-reviewed it. i think the best part is that the left rear tire is way up in the air - not due to an obstical, flexing, or any major articulation pushing the limits... it's up in the air because the nose is face-down in the mud! BROKEN!

that was cool and fun- at least from my perspective.

stone68 I'm grinning, maybe even a chubby. I must watch it again!

Coyote_94YJ The diesel won?!?! The dang thing made a hole in one on a par 4.
10-15-2009 04:54 PM
jdhallissey haha I would of just pulled him back out the way he came in even pulling him out up the hill he most likely wouldn't of broke the entire front end of his jeep. That angle and the power of a diesel well diesel won.

buckshot500 Funny how a guy buys a tow strap, & instantly becomes a recovery expert!

Years of experience all rolled up in a neat little $20.00 package from Harbor freight!

I'm sure if there was someone in that vid who knew what to do, they were standing there with a nice big bucket of imaginary popcorn! Not saying one word about the right way yo do it.

Heh heh, this is gonna be cool!!!!!!

nicolas-eric A guy from here did the same. His steering was in full lock when he tried to winch his XJ out of a hole.

We're supposed to bag Cherokee guys for not having a frame? I only bag on people if my rig out performs theirs...or of course if something on theirs breaks

Vaultzz I'm sure that guy just learned his lesson, (the guy in the red Cherokee) his reaction was exactly the same as mine when the front end of my Cherokee went for a dive and stalled
10-14-2009 06:51 PM
schnutzy the way they pulled it out was a dumb ass move
10-14-2009 06:41 PM
birdhunter Ya Makes you wunder why no one

4Jeepn There is no frame on a Cherokee guys.. so not sure how they would have tied it to the frame other than using a small hook in a body drain hole.. Tire was too far down in mud..best thing would have been to use two tow trucks slowly pulling out front behind...
10-14-2009 06:06 PM
motokeen I like the guy jumping out and all I hear is thats not good.
10-14-2009 05:59 PM
motokeen I would have pulled it out from behind. It would have came out the same way it went in and not such an agressive wall of dirt.
10-14-2009 05:22 PM
jwells36 I wonder if they had been using a winch if they would have had more control over the pressure and not broken anything like that? i wonder if you had a good winch hooked to it if it would have moved it at all the way it was burried.

whitebuffalo it was hooked to the frame but everyone involved were dumb-shits. that was a bad angle and that front tire was wayyyy too buried to be jerking like that. i bet right about the time they ripped it apart, getting a little dirty and digging that tire out didnt sound quite so bad
10-13-2009 11:36 PM
schnutzy lookls like his front right side tire was just burried enough that the mud didnt want to let it go, so the whole axle stayed there while the jeep moved
10-13-2009 11:30 PM
morphious I'm curious if the strap was hooked to the frame why did the axle come out thats why i thought it was hooked to the axle and not the frame

Thanks!

Couldn't tell exactly from the video. I blew it up to 400x, and it just got blurry.

Hell of a thing to happen when you're out just wanting to have fun, huh?

Cheers!

Blackbeard1718 My vote would be... YES!

I've seen similar video's on other Forums, and they've all happened about the same way.

That's why they stress to have a Hook Point on the Front and Rear of the Jeep, so that a Recovery Strap isn't hooked to an axle, which results in what you just saw.

"THAT'S" gonna leave a mark!!!

Cheers!

I cannot tell. But it looks real.
