But it´s expensive to install locking hubs.
I paid only about 60$ for two new wheel hubs on Tuesday.

BTW I had rear wheel drive without locking hubs in my TJ.
I had to remove the inner axle shafts because my ARB diff case was broken.

|jdhallissey||I run them unlocked when I am not using 4wd. Then when going out to the trails I lock them and leave them locked since I am hooked up to air lockers|

|ExDementia||I remember locking hubs being annoying in my Ranger, having to get out everytime to go into 4wd wasn't all that bad, it was just a bit annoying. Plus mine were really hard to turn for some reason|

With 4.11 you have 1/3more RPM at the same speed than before.
2 ARB lockers + compressor: 1700$
2 4.11 R&Ps: 350$
2 axle overhaul kits: 200$
chromoly rear axle shafts: 300$
install costs: 800$
2 Rubicon D44 axles should be way cheaper. And they are stronger. Especially than a rear D35.

If you were closer I would give you a great price on my d-30and d-35 with 4.10s. If you can go to the junk yard and find a tj with a dana 44 rear with 3.73's atleast. They are actually really easy to put in.

The front D30 is ok with 33s and moderate offroading. In the rear some cheomoly axle shafts would help.
When you regear to 4.11 or 4.56 you´ll need new diff cases. When you buy some lockers like ARB lockers you could upgrade to 30 spline.
Or you could search for 2 TJ Rubicon D44 axles at ebay or craigslist. They have lockes and 4.11 gears and their installation would be nearly plug-and-play.
IMO that would be cheapet than upgrading and regearing your axles.

Trying to make an educated decision...
I've got an 01' TJ sport with a 4" sus. lift with a tc drop kit with the d30/35 sitting on 33's with the god awful 3.07s....
god knows i'm wanting to beef these axles up and regear them with lockers....
i'd actually prefer to swap out both axles with new gear and swap out drive shafts and add a sye and add a 1" or 1.25" bl get a new front and rear bumper and rock sliders and a cb, and upgrade the head lights...hahah the list goes on...hahah only wish i actually made money...uncle same ain't generous...haha
but most importantly i'm wanting to take care of my axles first cause out of all that i listed it seems to be the only thing that's more of a necessity...
so if you wouldn't mind helping me plan how i should go about getting more out of these axles considering i don't have the cash to buy new ones or the know how/skill sets of welding or attempting a conversion....
