BlueLightTJ The voltage of the alternator wasn't being regulated. The check gauges light would come on and the battery gauge would go to zero. When I would first crank it, the battery gauge would read around the quarter tick mark for a few minutes, if that long, then go to zero.

I initially replaced the alternator, the battery was already new and I checked all the wiring/connections to make sure there wasn't an issue there. After all the troubleshooting it was determined that the PCM was the issue.

Since I ordered the PCM through eBay, it came with a Lifetime Warranty, so replacement and shipping is on them. I'm pretty sure they're getting tired of hearing from me but they'll get over it. So, if you do end up ordering from them, I would do through eBay, that way if you do have any issues and they're not will to help you, eBay can deal with them.

Hopefully, I'll eventually get one that works without any issues but I'm not holding my breath, which is why I'm ordering the external voltage regulator.

REDZILLA dammn :S ha. that doesnt make me feel good either. but its my only option at this point. we talked about the external reg but it may not pass emissions (if it goes in for one again) due to the CE light. it may be the way to go if the ecm doesnt correct the issue.

BLUELIGHTTJ- if you dont mind me asking, what were the symptoms that your jeep had prior to replacing it. also, were the 6 ecm's that u went through covered under warenty? hopefully u didnt have to purchase each one

I had the same issue as you, turns out it was my PCM also. Instead of buying direct from them, online reviews were terrible, I went through eBay. On eBay they had 100% positive feedback. So I figured if I had a problem with them I could just handle it through eBay.

I've been through 6 PCM's with them within the past two and a half months. I'm waiting on the 7th to be shipped to me. I'm sure had I went through them direct instead of eBay they wouldn't of honored the lifetime warranty.

Out of the 6 that they've sent me so far, only one of them worked. It worked for about a month before it went out, on top of that the face plate was on upside down. I don't know they manage that one.

The only up side to them so far is that their shipping has been quick.

I priced a new PCM from my local dealership, they said it would cost $795 and additional $65 to program it. That's a little more then a want to spend right now.

I'm ordering an External Regulator Conversion Kit from External Voltage Regulator Kit for Chrysler Dodge Jeep Vehicle Alternator ECU Bypass, to bypass the PCM, so that I can go ahead and get my Jeep back on the road.

That doesn't make me feel good, I just bought one from them and had a weird electrical hickup last night....

REDZILLA has anyone heard of or used jeepwranglerpcm.net or jeeppcmdirect.com ? these sites or by the same company. but in florida. was hoping for something closer

mudmagnet63 Don't use autocomputers.com the one's they sent me would not even start the jeep. I sent both of them back. You will have to provide the vin and mileage. Mine ended up being a short in the wiring harness. Good luck

REDZILLA
Ecm

Hi all. I have recently had some charging issues. Thought it was a alt/bat. but it wasnt. replaced the bat temp sensor and battery. nothing. The alternator is not being charged by ECM. So i need to get a rebuilt/ remanufactured ECM. Does anyone know where the best site is for this (legit). I found one in florida but i am from canada so looking if anything is closer.

also, the jeep must be flashed with km's and vin correct?
