You need shocks in the length of the stock shocks.
Or add some 2" Spacers and everything works fine.

Well first of all a body lift does not require longer shocks, the suspension is in no way modified with this lift.
This is just speculation but by using a shock that's too long it might effect the level at which the shock operates. But I really don't know much about shocks.

Black Diamond shocks
I bought an '06 about a year ago with a 3" body lift and 33" tires. The shocks were stock. This weekend I installed a set of Black Diamond shocks bought from Quadratec, specified for 2-4" lift. All seems fine--I took a drive on the beach and the handling seems fine--but on sharp dips in the road the front seems to dive more than it should and the front shocks bottom. Per Quadratec instruction, I tightened the top nuts only enough to firmly seat the bushings but not "squash" them. I only have about 3/4" of thread showing on the spindle above the bushing and top plate, and Q says that is about right. Are these shocks simply less forgiving? Should I have ordered a longer shock? Any other thoughts? Thanks. sr
