06LiftedTJ What was the verdict to this endeavor? Does the 4.0 kit fit the 2.4?

Tobi150 I´m looking out for a snorkel.

With this system, do you have any problems to remove the doors? Somebody told me it would become difficult.

IMO... I really like it !

my buddy did OME but he had some issues when modifying
probably unrelated but seem to have higher incidences of failures after
changing from stock....Premature tire wear, U joint failures,
alignment issues, etc...

csamn2007 Thanks, you just solidified ARB some business lol.

There wasnt much modification at all! just make sure you measure twice, using the supplied template, and drill once! I will admit it was scary drilling a 3 inch hole in the side of my Jeep! I did have to drill 2 smaller holes in the A Post in order to attach the snorkel to the Jeep. After I had the snorkel attached I removed the battery and moved the vacuum lines that are beneath it. After that I just made the modifications to the intake box per the instructions and I was done. Over all it was a very easy install!

nicolas-eric I really like the snorkel. That makes you feel very safe in deep water crossings.
When I was wheeling the last time the water was deeper than I thought and all fender flares were completey covered with water. Some water came into the insde through the softtop zippers. But the engine worked fine. Without a snorkel that would have been a very expensive water crossing.

nicolas-eric Ask them to send you a pic of the airbox with the installed snorkel.
In the install instructions they only show the 4.0L.
10-23-2009 01:25 PM
adkjoe I just called ARB directly and they said it will fit, they said it's the same kit for the 4.0 and 2.4L Problem solved...that was easy!

nicolas-eric It will fit. You only have to find a way to connect the hose to the airbox.

Btw it also fit with A/C.

adkjoe The guy at Northridge4x4.com said it would fit...heres the stock airbox from the front.

10-23-2009 12:06 PM
nicolas-eric How does it look in the front?
You have to install these thing somewhere on th box. That´s where the hose connects to the airbox.

Perhaps you can install it under the airbox.
10-23-2009 11:57 AM
adkjoe Stock 2.4L airbox (pics from google but thats what mine looked like before I took it out)

10-23-2009 11:45 AM
nicolas-eric That would work IMO.
Does it look like the 4.0L airbox?
10-23-2009 11:36 AM
adkjoe I still have the stock airbox in my garage would that work with it?
10-23-2009 11:31 AM
nicolas-eric The 4.0L snorkel will fit. But you need an airbox with a filter for it.
