Yah, that is what it says. Mishel, one of the regular posters on this forum would disagree. She left her soft top in delivery position through the winter without problems. But she had no use for the space that it was taking up. I think that is when you get into problems. Setting cargo on top of it probably will create problems for the top.

jk'n If you are careful it won't get damaged. But why keep it in there using up space. I store mine in the garage in the winter. I store my hard top on two-two by fours in the back yard in the summer. Currently my hard top is on. And soft top is in the garage. Windows are in the storage bag that I bought from jeep to store them in when the top is down.

bflank According to the manual, you need to take the soft top off if you are leaving the hard top on. It will be damaged if you leave it in the position that it ships in with the dual top option.

CTJeepGuy I'm sure you can take the soft top off, but from my experience with my past Jeep (I'm waiting on my '10 now), it's a massive PITA to take totally on and off.

2010 JK with dual tops

Just picked up my 2010 JK with dual tops. When I picked it up both tops were on the Jeep. Do I have to leave the soft top on year around? In just the few days I have had the Jeep, the soft top keeps getting in the way.
