Cptc223 I would think that anything that creates less resistance/friction whether it be oil, tires, you name.
if it operates smoother it's gotta be better

Cptc223 I'm running royal purple 75-140 synthetic gear oil.

4.0lj that's really amazing to get that kind of milage in any tj! Might have to try some different gears in mine...haven't checked mpg yet but 100 miles takes a half a tank and I bet that isn't very good.

Cptc223 Also Bosch spark plugs and synthetic Mobil 1 if that really matters ;p
09-19-2013 07:22 AM
Cptc223 I'm running 4.56 gears that help a bit that estimate is going 70 mph only engine modification is flowmaster exhaust & high flow cats. I've tested the mpg on 4 trips recently all came out to 23.2 or better my lj has 90,000 on it.

A Jeep Named Jack I average about 15-16 all in town driving on an 2001 sport with 32" tires and my jeep is no where as built as yours!

SuperTJ Welcome and congrats! I would like to know how you are 23+ mpg. I am no where near that. I have 06 LJ with 31" tires

A Jeep Named Jack How?? Is that even possible?? That's insane! How fast do you drive Cptc223?
09-18-2013 08:10 PM
Cptc223 What are you getting gas mileage wise? I'm running 33's with a 4 inch long arm lift, bumpers, winch rockers, and fender/quarters
I'm getting 23.6 mpg on the highway.
I also have the 06 LJ

new to me lj

my wife and I have always wanted a wrangler...

we looked and looked and finally decided on the 2006 2dr unlimited! I need the extra trunk space for tools and gear, so it worked for us!

only had it a few days but enjoy almost enjoy everything about it...the exception being mpg(I drive 100 miles a day to work n back)
I've been reading on the forum and its great thanks so much for your posts you've all saved me alot of research. Its great to have so much information in one place!!
