Yes you can fold the softop down on the TJ and run the hardtop.

When bought new from the factory with the Dual Top option the hardtop was installed with the soft top folded in the down position the soft top has to be folded tightly, Here is a pic of how they come from the factory

Hard Top/Soft Top Question

I have a 2005 Wrangler with the factory soft top. I would like to add the hard top and was wondering if I can fold the soft top down and then put the hard top on? I may have to drive a long distance to pick up a used hard top. Thanks
