I bought my new JK sport yesterday! Anvil, automatic, hardtop, 3.73's, a/c, and uconnect. I still didn't get a great deal, but got the exact vehicle I wanted and it was only an hour away. Bought it the same day it was delivered to the dealership.
Now I need to get a trailer hitch and a nice wheel/tire setup.

I believe I've seen several people post recently about which dealers they've used in Jersey. You may want to post another thread specifically asking for jeep dealerships in your area, so the Jersey guys know to look at your thread. A lot of people skip over the 'buy my new jeep' threads because there are so many.
You might also want to go to the locations section here and find the one for Jersey and post the same titled thread there, since that will be seen only by people who have an interest in where you are looking.
Third idea is to go look through the 2014 prices paid and 2014 let's make a deal threads and see if there are any jersey people posting there.
Fourth idea is try contacting 3pedalmini. I believe he is in Jersey and I believe he felt like he got a good deal from his dealer. He ordered a new copperhead last week.
Fifth idea is to contact Pat at Fields CDJ in Chicago. He may make you a deal you can't pas up, including the flight to Chicago. And you get your first jeep road trip home!

I'm having a hard time getting a decent deal... been to 3 local dealers and contacted a few more. 2 tried to rip me off on my trade in. None of them seem like they are interested in working with me on trying to order a vehicle or find me exactly what I want.
I even had one dealer up the price of the vehicle $1600 (no rebates included) from the guaranteed price they gave me on the phone 2 hours prior.
I average about 1 new vehicle purchase per year, and have never had such a hard time making a deal. Just an all around bad experience at these Jeep dealers. Close to giving up on the whole idea of getting one.

Used 2012 JKU 24s, billet, dual top group, connectivity grp, auto with 10,000 miles for $26,000 + about $700 for delivery, & tax, title, license. MSRP new was $31,900'ish
Anybody have any input?

they are hard to find in lots.... i would suggest selling your truck privately and then ordering a 2014. your in a good time frame as well the highly sought after colors have just been announced ready to order. granite,copperhead,amp'd, and hydro blue for freedom edition.
only problem is 3.73 gears have went up in price by $200 dollars. and the vehicles base price depending on trim went up to $100 TO $200 dollars. check the 2014 info thread for more info.

|brentwood||Yeah there aren't many with 3.73s in my area that arent loaded with options. Looking like I'm going to have to order one. Just have to decide between granite and anvil and pick a dealer.|

Check out this thread - another guy is in the same boat as you..
You only need to provide the Tread Lightly affiliate code when you start the paperwork to buy it. When pricing them out, just tell them you're a Tread Lightly member and they'll automatically give you the 1% below invoice price.

Thanks for the replies. I didn't mean the 3.73's were a $2000 option. I meant the price quotes dealers are giving me are $1 to 2000 more if I order exactly what I want, as opposed to buying something close that they already have on the lot.
Do I have to give them the treadlightly documents when I order the jeep, or when I go to pick the jeep up at the dealership?

|jwilson2598||Yeah, I'm not sure how the $1k-$2k price got there, it's only a $195 option to get 3.73's from the factory. Even if you add the LSD (which I have and like) it's another $295, so you're only at $500. I ordered mine last year exactly the way I wanted last year out of necessity (no one had a Gecko with the equipment I wanted) and I'm very glad I did, as I'm still thrilled with it a week later and don't ever say, geez, I wish my new Jeep had come with ______, because I got all the stuff I wanted.|

|Moonrider||I bought 3:21, and 3:73 was a special order with $150 to upgrade, not $1000-2000 as you say. It might be some other package that adds up the price. I'm satified with 3:21 with 35" tires right now. I might regear with 4:56 or 4:88 down the road. Don't rush in with purchase. Get what you want. I only regret not getting power package. But im still happy.|

Help me with my first Jeep purchase!
I'm close to trading my 2012 dodge ram in for a 2014 wrangler.
The price adds up quick, once you add a couple basic options!
How do I go about getting the "tread lightly" discount people are talking about?
I can't find the exact jeep I want with 3.73's. Is it worth paying an extra $1-2,000 to order one with 3.73's? Or should I save the money and buy off the lot with 3.21's?
I appreciate any help.
