KBR97 JESS where are your pics and videos....your slacking
11-03-2009 04:15 PM
KBR97 for 700 bucks you can get a badass set of steel tube fenders and still have money left.
11-03-2009 04:09 PM
njkeagle Cool thanks. I like the bushwackers but you have to paint them. Never painted anything before and if you want to receive them painted they are $700 from quadratec. Thanks much for the info though.

KBR97 The mounting hardware is crap. Theres these little rubber spacers that go between the flare and the body...most times i had to use 2 so they would fit. The little black caps that cover the bolt heads either dont fit or fall off. And a number of the mounting holes didnt exactly line up which results in an extremely tight fit that streches out the mounting holes. Or you may even need to redrill some new holes.
I kind of knew what i was getting into but I got them brand new from someone who had an extra set for a good price.
They come black in color. I think they are made in china too. That could be part of the reason why smittybuilts stuff is so much cheaper than competitors.

IMO...save your money for bushwackers or keep your stock ones.
11-03-2009 12:44 PM
njkeagle They look good though and they are half the price of the Bushwackers. Do they come painted black? Why you don't like them? You mean if you hit something and stuff?
11-03-2009 12:18 PM
KBR97 they are the smittybuilts...i wouldn't recommend them. Not the greatest quality built product.

njkeagle Nice pics man. By the way which pocket flare you have?

If you look at the trail map, west property, Its a blue/black 13-A. It runs right along side rock creek. It was real nice trail. Good challenge and a nice length too.
Saturday was kind of a wash out, muggy, rainy, windy. Sunday cleared up and got nice for a while. Feeling any better yet?

smatica..I used a bracket that I found in quadratecs catalog. Its a convenient place to keep the jack but it tends to get beat up sometimes.

You would probably have to take a road trip further up northern cali I guess.
I feel the same way about the type of terrain you guys have over on the west coast. I'd love to do some west coast wheeling.
