This is an inspirational story!! (not getting flipped off) We need more stories like this. I feel if you follow the points system, I don't, you should get 200 points for teaching the wave by example!!!!

As for the other part of your story.... well I will stay politically correct and not agree or disagree with you

Jeep wave is a culture thing. We wave because we share a love of jeeping. Those who don't wave just don't get it. It separates US from THEM

IMO....Sounds like a snot nose spoiled brat. Mommy and daddy give the little turd anything he wants so they won't have to deal with his temper tantrums.

Sounds like a bunch of Jeeps losing out on the Jeep wave just because they're scared they won't get acknowledged.

I wave regardless...but only to other Wranglers.

I was working in Ottawa for a year and a half before moving back here end of March. Good trails there or close by?

I may be heading up this weekend.
There are supposed to be some really nice trails up in the Calebogie area but I haven't been yet. I've heard awesome reports from some different people about it.

Desert rats I wave all the time but hardly anyone waves out here

It doesn't really matter if I do get a wave back or not. It's not about attention to me, it's about acknowledging a common interest with folks around me. I wave at nearly every jeep I see, but if someone driving another jeep is very clearly disinterested in me and mine or otherwise distracted I'm not going to take my focus from the road for another split second to try and share a moment with someone who clearly isn't a Jeeper. That's all. I don't care who initiates (that silly point system is just that - silly) and probably more often than not I'm the first to wave, but for me it's about saying a little hello and acknowledging another Jeeper and our shared passion, so I'm not waving at the folks for whom the jeep is clearly *just* a vehicle they drive.

ArmyofMike I wave 90% of the time...and many a time I don't get a wave back. I really don't care if they don't, cause everything is awesome, everything is cool when you're part of a Jeep team!

Most embarrassing part is my Wifey making fun of me for waving whether I get a response or not!

I wave back to anyone who initiates, and I'm definitely learning that in my neck of the woods it's just as likely a female driver or BEASTLY rig won't return a wave as a JK so my new rule is to wave back if it's initiated, and otherwise just wave when I see my jeep being eyeballed by another jeep driver - if a JK or female driver doesn't look like they recognize that they're passing another jeep I don't bother - they either don't "get" it or they don't see me and either way I'm not likely to get a wave return

Michel347 I was in Turks and Caicos last week and rent a JK while we were there. Saw a couple of other Wranglers, not sure if it's because they don't see too many on that small Island, but you should have seen their waves, they get really exited, they were almost coming out of their Jeep to wave, half seated, half standing-up, one hand out by the window the other over the windshield, ... I was so surprised when I saw the first one getting so exited that I forgot to wave back, he must have been really dissapointed, ...lol

1monday ooo ooo ooo...I got a wave today!!! ...from a modded TJ in the yuppie side of town (I think that's why I never get waves...I'm either in the hood, or in yuppieville...no waves from either crowd, not that there are any Jeeps in the hood (sorry, no offense meant to anyone living in the aforementioned places))

YES!!! I knew it! Thank you, Jeepalicious!! And I would return your wave everytime.

But seriously it's awesome to see how many people here do wave. I am not kidding when I say one of the things I enjoy most about driving a jeep is waving at other jeeps. I'm waving at everybody!

Pittsburghwrangler Yesterday I waved to a jacked up JK that I see around here all the time. He always waves back and he did yesterday... but so did the girl in the Malibu in front of him! Lmao I guess she thought I knew her but it just made me laugh.

It's entirely possible that one who didn't wave today waved the last 3 times and this was just one of those times where it didn't happen for any number of reasons. Meh. I'm waving anyway.

Yeah don't give up...I have an '04 TJ and have come to "expect" not to get waves from the stocker JKs/ JKUs.....(even though my wife drives one and my other is ride is one as well yes 3 Jeeps I am addicted)

Anyway Wens am on the way home from work got the left hand up and out while doing a "right on red" and a stock shiny JKU with the very "Yuppie" looking driver, waved and he did a double take and turned it into a made my day I admit it!!

So some are learning!!

I always do a peace wave, I get more waves back now. I think some females think that if a guy does a jeep wave....they are actually waving because the chick is hot....

so Peace wave eliminates that ...more peace, more waves
