Me, being the original owner of this Jeep, like an idiot, drilled three large holes in each windshield pillar and a fourth on one side to route wires.
Now, fixing and filling will be a bit of a challenge. I have pillar guards that should do it, but I'm just not all that inspired to get it done.

When you say "overhead" do you mean a bar that mounts to the upper section of the windshield pillar?

|stanger04||Running the wires I'm not too sure on, as I haven't ran the light bar like you are using. I have only used the bar on the hood. Haven't done any on my YJ at all yet. I would try to mount it with as little mods as possible to the Jeep, that way if you don't like it you are not stuck with it or lots of holes.|

|Golden E.||I have a question for stanger or dkarge... how would u guys recommend the route I should take for wiring my daylighters on a overhead light bar? Both wiring harnesses on the passenger side, or one on each side? Also, what is the best way to get them to the battery? Through the door jamb above the hinge, drill into the windshield frame or drill near the antenna? Or is there a better way?|

|DKarge87||on a different note put iti in place and make sure your top functions correctly. PO of mine put a light bar on with 4 daylighters and to make the top fold is a PITA|

You'll need a heavy duty switch and the relay is a must for that much power. Get on Google and search a watt to amp conversion, I can't remember off my head what it is. Then you will know what your amp draw is plus have the ability to find wire size.
Example on AC 10ga wire is 30 amps, 12ga is 20 amps, 14ga is 15 amps.
A 500 watt amp needs at least 10ga wire and you have to remember that amp isn't pulling/pushing 500 watts continuous. I have seen people run a relay as well as a capacitor to cover the over draw.
I would suggest just for saving your battery, divide the lights up on multiple switches and run relays. Relays are like a contact switch in commercial electric, they take can of the load so there is no "spark" on the lights.
DC is limited and running all of those lights, factory lights, and everything else will be torture on a stock system, if used for prolonged periods. You may also want to look into a higher amp alt. at the very least.

Here's what I'd do if it were me... bear in mind, I'm NOT an electrician and there may be better ways.
Go buy a 12v relay correctly sized to handle the amp draw of the lights and the switch you're gonna use to operate the lights...along with a small roll of red wire and a small roll of black (you can use one color, but I like to keep things color coded).
Run the red wire from the positive terminal on your battery to one side of the coil on the relay. Using black wire, run the other side of the coil to one side of the switch. Run black wire from the other side of the switch to a good ground (or just tie into a ground wire near the switch). Now the relay is wired up so it will energize only with the switch flipped on.
Now for wiring the lights...
I'm not sure what gauge you'll need for the lights, but make sure you size it appropriately for the current load...run the wire from the positive terminal on your battery to the common terminal on the relay. Then run a wire from the normally open terminal on the relay (which closes when the relay is energized) up to your lights. You'll want to wire your lights in parallel so when one blows, you won't lose them all. And don't forget to ground them well.

HOW TO Wire a Light Bar with 4 KC Slimlights 130w
i bought a used light bar and im buying 4 kc lights to go on it. Can someone write up a wiring diagram for a propper installation. (should i make a separate fuse box and run all my aux from there? because i already have 2 hella 500's on my windshield but they are running straight from the battery with an in line fuse.) Im running all four kc lights off of one switch. i want to know the best way to run all of my aux lighting ill reroute my hells if i have to and how to go about it.
