Tater Todd Obviously there's a lot I don't know about the situation. I would do an in-depth reading of the divorce papers for starters.

Blazor Sorta single Dad here, spare ya the long version, she passed from cancer nearly 2 years ago after 19 years. Went a year single, have a gf now. Was so weird getting back into the dating scene. Son is 15 with a learners, loves driving the Jeep. Better off road than on road at the moment lol.

Dont feel bad! You HAVE to make time for yourself or you will go crazy. Trust me. I felt the same on daddy deprivation too, but mine is older and knew he understood. I still make time for him, he just thinks I dont give him the same amount. Its hard with work, keeping the house clean, dinner, laundry, grocery shopping, his school, and then making free time. Does get easier. Do what ya can when ya can.

Out of it all, i learned that I like to cook and pretty good at it too. The hardest part is trying to be a mom to my 16 year old daughter. We get our nails done together and she jokes that they will put pink paint on my toes. I try to do something special with her once a month, like take her to a concert. She LOVES the jeep too!!! Bonus..
I have the same experience, luckily I have a son and dont have to get my nails done lol. I was already the cook of the house so that was no biggie, its making time to do everything that gets me sometimes. Good for you man!

As far as cooking, paper plates become your friend lol. Dont have the time to make elaborate meals like I use to, so there are some nights here and there that involve chicken nuggets, fishsticks, corn dogs, frozen pizzas and T.V. dinners lol. Some simple things I do is homemade pizza, chicken w/ bbq sauce and Knorr butter noodles, fried chicken tenders, tacos, grilled chicken/pork/dogs/etc., kelbasa and beans, plus a lot more. I replaced ground beef with ground turkey in a lot of meals like Helper and sloppy joe.

Herb chicken is good, its basically chicken breast in baking dish, dice tomatoes and put on top of chicken. Mix a pack of Lipton garlic and herb mix, 1 tbsp of olive oil, and 1/3 cup water then pour over tomatoes. Bake 20 minutes, then cover with mozzarella and parmesean, bake til cheese is melted or chicken is done.

Breakfast casserole is pretty good too, fry up 2 packs of sausage, mix it in a bowl with a dozen eggs, stick of butter, pack of hashbrowns (add 1 tbsp water if using dry pack), chopped onions and green peppers, cup or so of cheddar, cover and bake on 400 I think (or 350, I forgot lol) for an hour. Let stand 10 minutes. I like putting Texas Pete on mine!

Hope some of this helps

Ask him if he takes his bike off any sweet jumps

mikhail2400 Thanks for bumping this thread Krisbman, I didn't even know it exsisted till today. Im a single father. had custody since 2008 when the state took took them from her and gave them to me. My sons are 15 nand 17 soon to be 16 in 7 days and 18 in 40 days.
I no longer have any problems with there mom as she passed away in 2011. Bad life style choices, that's all ill say on that.
My 17 year old helped me put the new lift on the jeep while my 15 year old wanted nothing to do with it. I understand the 15 year olds reasons, I was him one time. Just glad the 17 year old is willing to spend so much time with me. He loves the Jeep as much as I do. It belonged to his grandfather (my dad) who passed last September on Friday the 13th. Both sons were close to my mom and dad, still are close with my mom.
I didn't read the whole thread but did bounce thru some of it. This seems like a good place to vent when we need to. Not only can we vent here but we can be assured of it reaching someone who has either been down the same road or is headed there now. Thanks for starting this thread harleyrider!!

krisbman This thread needed a bump. Soo, whats up fellas?? Well, the boy turns 18 in less than a month. In the state of Oregon the kids can petition to have child support continued until they are 21 if they are going to school and meeting all the requirements. I havent seen anything in the mail or been served papers yet. Not that i would be out anything but I have to be honest. Im tired of being strapped. The extra $350 a month would be very nice

Beach-Bum anyone else's Fathers Day plans involve the Jeep? we'll be driving out on the beach for the day.

Tater Todd What's up? I was almost there two weeks ago. Literally.

This morning he flew out to his mother's for the Summer. We didn't get to hang out last night because he wanted to see his friends. At the airport they asked how old he was and if I wanted to go to gate. I figured we didn't have time last night so I had a few hours with him to have breakfast.

Going down the escalator to the train there was an announcement. "Please stand to the right and face forward."

I stepped to the middle, turned around and, (in my best Cartman) said "Whateva, I do what I want!"

The couple behind us laughed. He just looked horrified.

Six weeks without him now.
