Kota7x I would pass... I bought my 04 LJ with a 4.25 Rubicon Express Superflex lift, 1" BL, 35x12.5x15 BFG ATs, F/R ARB Lockers, and 4.88 gearing for $17,000. In California with 60,000 miles. There are better jeeps out there.

Rubicon06Va Do yourself a favor! Go south and don't look back. I wouldn't buy a Wrangler in NY and PA. Wrangler frames are notorious for major rust anyway and most likely rusted-out in the NY snow belt. Buy in Va, NC or SC where rust is not a likely factor. BTW, I saw a 06' Rubicon on craiglist Harrisonburg VA for $13,000 with 113,000 miles today.

TrailbossNJ Ok, the Rubi has been out for what? 10 years now? Does it have to be an 05-06? Looking online, there are absolutely tons of them out there...I looked at about 15 TJ's before I bought my 02 a couple months ago...was in better shape then many of the later models I looked at...Point being: he's going to pay a premium for all that stuff on that Jeep. If he can handle it, go for it...

redneckpunk A stealership was selling an 06 rubi for 25k. It looked stock from the pics, but it only had a smidge over 10k miles on it. Then again, Keeps go for a little more around here unless they have loads of miles on them or are really worn out.

How 'bout a base Rubicon, for starters. Plenty of them around. And I don't waste time calculating labor on the things I love to do...Spare time is free! More savings right there.....

TrailbossNJ Well hey there: if *you* are coming to the right conclusion about the price, others probably are too...so take a closer look and make him an offer you can afford! If he's smart, might just go for it...

1jeeplvr I thought it seemed pricey.I wasent looking to buy it I just drive by that particular dlr & saw it as I drove by.I thought maybe 18k on the high side.Looks clean but like someone mentioned,no frame shots.

LoL! I hope you are not a financial adviser by profession! How can you "Drive it with a smile" knowing you paid *far* too much for a depreciating asset that can be had for far less by simply being patient and looking around? He can find one cheaper and use the money saved to mod it out the way he wants....

lynn New stock LJ Rubi in '06, with two tops, no winch... would have cost ~$26K.
I was 15 minutes from signing for one until the dealer started being a Richard about the price he had previously agreed on my S10-ZR2.
I walked out.

My thought on the rig in the link... $18K max, and only if they removed the snorkel/restored the intake & sheet metal, and removed the stickers...

UnlimitedRubicon If someone pays that much, it's worth that much.

The left rear is different because the old style Goodyear MT/Rs and are no longer available.

NJO That's a big PASS..........lots of fluff on that rig..........

TJDave Too much IMO. Tell them there is a huge hole in the fender from the dorkle. Deduct the price of a new fender with install and paint. Deduct a little more for the zombie stickers.

InvictusDecretum I know nothing, but 20k seems like it would be a more appropriate price.

Verf Too much. LJ Rubi's can get that kinda money with mods, but only a stealership would try that much for a swb and they don't show any frame pics
09-24-2013 10:46 PM
Rubi513 Way too much. Bought my 04 with 60k miles for 13k last year.

A Jeep Named Jack Its a little much.. In my area I could see 18-20K. I got an 01 sport with a few modifications with 74,000 miles for $11,500

That is definitely not the norm or it's in worse shape than your describing.
