TXST8tj i have this speaker.... http://www.cobra.com/shop_image/prod...e1a73757e6.jpg

i took the mounting bracket off, pulled the four screws in each corner that hold the front and back together, replaced those with 'eye' screws that were long enough to hold the two halves together and have the 'eye' flush with the box. then took two long zipties and ran each through the two 'eyes' on each side of the speaker and then ran those around the rollbar right above and to the left of the driver's seat. tightened them and speaker secured to the rollbar.
i kinda like the idea of flushmounting it in the soundbar though. would be mostly hidden when the top is off, protected from rain, and in a great spot to effectively hear it.

erickpl I have an aftermarket soundbar and an external CB speaker NEAR it. I actually mounted it to the cage over and to the side of my head, but it would have been just as easy to drill into the sound bar. I personally think the attachment to the cage is a stronger connection vs the soft material of my sound bar (wood+neoprene cover).

I can get pics if you would like.

KA5IVR I have seen some photos posted somewhere showing it. If I remember right, it was the Sound Bar that went all the way across and not the separate pod style with the speakers flush mounted in the center part. I also saw another that had external speakers mounted on the Roll Bar pointing forward. I'll dig around and see if I can find them. It might of been Stu Olson's.

External Speakers and the Soundbar

Has anyone ever tried installing an external speaker for your CB or Ham radio into the soundbar??
