mrcarcrazy Reminds me of college when I worked with this Hispanic Lesbian. She told our boss I hated her cause she was a lesbian. My boss laughed (she too was a lesbian, and we hung out all the time...drinking a lot!) then she changed her tune to "he hates me because I'm mexican". I corrected her and said "no I hate you cause you're a bitch."

This went on for some time. She was telling one of the other co-workers how I was a racist bigot, and he laughed at her, and said "nope, Ben is an equal opportunity hater, he hates everyone." I about died when I heard that.

The guys @ SP are hilarious, they make fun of everyone. Its the only way to go.

That same Boss is a Playwrite now, And one of her big plays in College was called "social Darwinism" it basically made fun of EVERYONE, from poor trashy people, to rich snobs. saying they are all equal to apes. (this is an oversimplification.)...it offended a few due to some of the slang that was used, and I just couldn't understand how these people got offended, as it was making fun of the morons using such slang, not promoting its use.

Some people are too stupid for words, sadly they have a lot of power in this country...

please feel free to kiss my honkey fat b!tch @ss .

do you like creative use of those words? which, by the way, further proves my point that people give words meanings.

jgano23 i love south park. yes it is relatively vulgar and "in your face," but they take current events and hot button issues and, in a way, show the hypocrisy in them. this south park episode was not about calling gay people f*gs. to me, it seemed like they were disarming that word. the episode showed that people give words meanings. if people collectively change what a word means, the the word changes meaning. for cripes sake, the word gay used to be used to describe things that were pleasant and cheery, it now has a "new" meaning. "gay" is now used to describe a homosexual. like i said before, people give words meanings, words don't give themselves meanings. if you watched the episode you would see that south park wasn't making fun of gay people, if anything they were making fun of harley riders.

idk, i think "glaad" should do what "big gay al" and all of his friends did, and join the effort to change the meaning and disarm the power of the word. if people get and act offended when someone uses a certain word, the the people who are looking to get a negative reaction will keep using that word to elicit that reaction. if you make fun of it, embrace it, or let it roll off of your back then the word eventually becomes meaningless. i think this goes for all groups and people.

For example: i am a white woman with a large rump. if someone were to call me a honkey fat @ss b!tch, no on would be up in arms and upset, if anything people would laugh (myself included). those words are supposed to be derogatory, but all of those things get said regularly on tv. they aren't offensive because people who fall into any of those categories don't get upset and protest.

idk, maybe i'm waay off base here.

honkey fat @ss b!tch OUT!

Schmo Well $hit . . . I ride a Harley . . . I guess I'm supposed to be offended too . . . where is HRAD (Harley Riders Against Defamation) in all of this . . . why has no one to come to my defense?

jdhallissey No because us straight white folk maybe even the rednecks get the beating because nobody else is ever like that to us. Ohh your sensitive then why don't you grow a pair and either ignore it or say something back. You just have to go complain like the moms club who wants to take all the harmful things on a play ground and no more dodgeball. Kids playing soccer need to were head pads because they are getting hurt while heading a soccer ball. You know what I tell tho parents, great your kid was already retarded now you make him/her were that isn't going to make her/him smarter! Teach them correctly and most of the accidents you see today would never happen.

David Lucas I get mad when people use the 'R' word (as in Redneck). I agree with you. Trey and Matt are equal opportunity offenders, they go after everyone ('Trapped in the Closet' was my favorite) the gay community should take their licks along with the rest of us.

ExDementia There were quite a few things that would be offensive if taken out of context like:

"f*gs get out"
"God hates f*gs" (Making fun of that piece of shit Fred Phelps and the Westboro Baptist Church)

I knew this would happen

Some people just need to get over themselves and stop letting every little thing offend them. Honestly if you watch the episode, you will see that it should do the opposite of offend them.

Opposing Views: OPINION:GLAAD Outraged Over "South Park" Episode "The F-Word"

Quote:
TAKE ACTION NOW:
GLAAD encourages you to contact Trey Parker and Matt Stone, the creators of "South Park," as well as Comedy Central, to share your personal stories of the negative impact the F-word and other anti-gay slurs have had on your life. It is important that the people behind "South Park" realize that the F-word is not just a harmless insult; it is a hateful word with often violent consequences.
I laughed out loud when I read that. These people have been out of the spotlight for a while and just needed something new to complain about.
