I'm on a mission to try and help people avoid the aggravation that I had when mine let go. It is a PITA when it lets go way out in the "jungle".

|jk'n||They couldn't find it at my dealer because they tried to look it up by it's assembly part number. The bushing as listed is not replaceable. The whole linkage has to be replaced. Then he tried looking it up a different way. After he found it he generated a TSB on it.|

The part number on the bushing is 68064273-AA.

When I bought my 07 used. I had to get the brake reflash recall done on it. Took it to the dealer and spent all day there while they tried to do it. They said they were having problems with their programer. Recalls don't cost you but TSB may depending on the dealer. Make sure you get a carfax report (money well spent especially if the dealer won't provide one.) on any used vehicle you buy and a good warranty. My warranty is from a third party but covers a lot more than Jeep's warranty does. You can find out any recall info for a jeep your interested in buying by going to there Jeep's web site and while there you can request a build sheet to find out exactly what yours came equipped with. You will need the vin number to do this.
Over all I'm pretty satisfied with my 07 never had a problem with the hard top leaking or the 4wd shifter. I just make sure I install the hard top and shift it into 4wd like the manual says. Only problem I have had is the DW problem. It hit around 39k miles and the dealers don't seem to know what exactly is the cause of this and after having my jeep for awhile and never fixed it, the DW seemed to go away after I kept driving it for a few weeks. They did replace almost everything on the front end though and my warranty policy covered it.

If you're looking at one, take a buddy with you, that has some Jeep savey too, and knows what to look for. Two sets of eyes are always better, when looking at a Used Rig!

|inzgary||x2 on the top. The most common problem seems to be a leaking hard top with those new freedom panels.|

|jk'n||Oh ya, add one more thing: if you man handle the transfer case shifter, it will break a little plastic bushing that costs 60 cents and leave you stranded in the middle of the woods unable to shift the transfer case. I carry three spares. I recommend others to do the same if wheeling it. Only a matter of time before it breaks.|

Welcome to the forum.
I haven't been reading a lot about that on the forums about 07s or any other for that matter.
Leaky hard top has been a problem.
Overheating automatic has been a problem.
Jumping out of gear (JOG) in first has been a problem.
Other miscellaneous things but nothing major that I've seen a rash of.

problems with the 07
i'm looking at buying my first jeep. my dad had an 89 wrangler back in the day, and i've been hooked ever since. but now the time has come to buy my own.
i was curious what problems i should be on the lookout for. in my limited reading, i've come across several people who have had the jeep completely turn off while driving. has anyone else had this problem. any other problems you've noticed?
any information would be great. can't wait to post when i actually have one.
