Oh, and I also have a 4 banger and 5 speed, I run 33's with the stock gears, no problems.

Unless you're unsafe, or want lockers, your D35 is fine for daily driving and all but the most difficult 'wheeling. It's knowing how to drive what you have that'll get you there, not necessarily having the most built set-up.

Crawl under your jeep and look. There is a tag on each diff describing what gear ratio is in your axles. Do you have an auto or manual??
You are getting worked up over nothing. If you respect the rear axle 32s are fine.

|blownfanswitch||The largest tire I would consider until I drive another vehicle on a daily basis is a 32, so you tell me. U sure on the 4.10s? I sent a request for the factory spec sheet on my jeep and it said 3.73.|

|MR.CLIFFORD||The Dana 44 will be as close to a bolt in operation as it gets. The 8.8 requires all new brackets and can be challenging for a beginner. Either axle will have to be geared up because neither have the 4.10s to match your front axle. So what does that mean?? Do you gear just that axle or toss in some deeper gears for larger tires??|

|blownfanswitch||How difficult is the swap to a d44 or 8.8? I'm 20 and the only rearend I've ever swapped was on a '92 chevrolet. My dad is a little more mechanically inclined and is a sure bet to be there for the install.|

|MR.CLIFFORD||Get a Dana 44 out of a wrangler or a ford 8.8 out of an explorer. Both are popular replacements for the Dana 35. You can really make anything work. Just depends on your budget.|

|blownfanswitch||I had a friend of a friend who was selling the pair. This is still my DD and I'm not sure 35's are what I'm needing. I am not looking to have wildest, or the mildest, but I do know I don't want to have to worry a/b the d35 leaving me footing it home. Any suggestions?|

You can't go very deep with the 44 up front on gear selection. With a 4 banger of power and 5.13s you are geared up for 35-36" tires. You need to get a BOM from that rear 60 to be absolutely sure it is a 60. Could be a 61 and you won't want that. The 60 is 30 spline and would be fine with a larger tire behind your 4 banger. 400 dollars is a drop in the bucket to get new axles under your rig.
And the best question of all.... Where is this deal so I can check it out

|4Jeepn||Depends: Is the drop on the 44 the correct side, its it HP or LP is it a full width or Tj stock size. Do the have the same bolt pattern as the jeep, or is that different, is the 60 drum's or disc. do you have to add coil spring mounts. Are you ready to run at least 35 tire with the 60.|

I'm kind of new to the heavy duty wheeling side of everything, but I've read enough here to see that the d35 is the most hated axle ever. what do you guys think of this deal:Front/Rear axle ( Dana44/Dana 60) 4:10 gears .... $400
