TigWizard When I changed mine, I had to cut it. Could not get it to slide at all. The new one was easier but still took some effort to get to slide. I put in the OEM shaft. I don't plan on any major off roading.

deepair3 That is usually how I learn most of my lessons... OE vs Omix-Ada? and is Borgeson too much if I only off road occasionally?

mckinley4371 I had to remove the bolt where the shaft slips on to the steering gear box. Just loosening the bolt wasn't enough. And when putting the new one on do the same thing, slide it on with the bolt out. Other wise you'll just keep banging on it trying to force the shaft all the way on. (Ask me how I know!)

RednekYJ Yes it telescopes. OE is best bet for mostly street driving.

deepair3 So it telescopes together I am assuming... Is there a replacement anyone recommends? Omix-ada, Borgeson???

RednekYJ Unbolt it at the yokes and use a pry bar or big screwdriver to pry it together. Soak it with PB won't hurt either

Need Help!!!

Trying to resurrect and old thread. I have to replace this shaft also because a towtruck driver tried to straighten the wheels with the engine off. How do I get this shaft out. It is spinning where the 2 shafts come together. so I assume it is stripped in there.
