Ray - San Jose If the mount is busted off the shock, then replace the shock. If it's busted off the Jeep, then you're going to have to fix that anyway, so it doesn't hurt to fix it and then figgure out if you need to replace the shock.

it isnt leaking, and its no longer attatched to the axle since the mount broke, and i dont have a welder but dont want to pay someone to fix it just to find out i have to replace it.

it would be hard to tell if it is bent without taking it off, but its definately not bent bad

How do i tell if i need to replace a shock?

I was wheeling the other day and broke my rear shock mount, and i think i may have damaged my shock. Its a skyjacker nitro 8000, wich is a decent shock, and i wasnt doing anything rediculous. It really should be fine, but how do i tell if i need to replace it?
