why would you say buyer beware? most logical reason hes getting rid of it is because he sank too much money into all the cool upgrades and now cant make the payment on the thing because hes broke... makes sense to me, and yes its a rubicon you can see the factory swaybar disconnect and factory locker switches on the center console/dash also i dont know myself the details but cant you tell the d44 front from the d30 found in all other wranglers just by looking at the diff cover?
looks like a great rig, the wheels are a bit much for me but other than that...i would rock it. and as it was pointed out there are atleast 10k in upgrades visible...so the price seems on target to me... i dont know just my .02

I did the math in my head; there's almost $10K in accessories on it and not all of them are as dubious as the 37's on 4.56 gears....
Is it really a Rubicon?
Something just seems sorta odd. Dude has alot of money rolled into this to let it go.

I have not committed to buying it (he is asking $30,000) but I am giving it very serious consideration. He is selling because he simply is not using it as much as he thought. I don't know if he has upgraded axles and driveshafts but I can certainly ask as he has been very helpful.
As far as how I will use it - it will be a 2nd car -other car is a small coupe. Currently I have an a older pickup which I would like to replace with this or something similar. I need something to transport the dog, go to beach and go camping. I'm sure I would also enjoy experiencing the off-road options in central Florida. That said, I was hoping to get something that could split daily driver time with the coupe.
Again, thanks for any and all feedback.

|yj-genral||i think it would work with that set up but it wouldnt be great. with 37's i would suggest atleat 5.13 gears. i have a few friends that run 5.13's with 38's and they do well but thats not the 3.8L though... if its in good working order and you want to be able to offroad it as well and its at a great price, i would buy it and save for taller gears or downgrade the tire size... remember you can always change it to what your needs are, you just need something to get started with preferably with most of the mods already done so it saves yourself money.|

|4Jeepn||Give us some more info on how you plan to use the Jeep. Frankly 37's are big tires, stopping is going to take more time, wear and tear on the jeep will be greater.. etc etc... Few things to find out, why is this person selling the jeep? Also, have the front axle shafts been upgraded, with 37s they need to be. Also the rear driveshaft will need upgraded as well. Do you have link to this jeep so we can see it?|

|Reddog628||I have 4:10's with an automatic and 35's. Still real nice out of the hole which is where you need it off road. At about 60mph to accelerate leaves something to be desired but it really isn't that bad. You won't need any other improvements unless you really plan on driving it hard off road.|

In fact, 37's would need at least 5.38 gearing, stouter axles & driveshafts, and some other bolstering to have an effective service life...

37" tires with 4.56 gears automatic transmision?
I'm looking at buying a '08 2 door automatic Rubicon with a 4" Terra Flex short arm lift - the seller says it has 456 gears to compensate for the larger tires.
I am very new to all this off-road jargon so I have been doing a lot of research/reading and doing my best to understand what it all means. Something I just can't grasp or perhaps just have not read the right post concerns the gears. From what I have read, I have not seen any reference to 37" tires with the 456 gears (I honestly have no idea what the numbers referring to gears actual means). I have not driven the vehicle yet as its located some distance from me, but I plan to in the next week.
My primary question - what will be my real world experience with this set up both on and off road?
Sorry for being such a rookie in all this - but I would sincerely appreciate any and all help/feedback.
