|xxxxxxxxdavem||if you are going to the trouble of changing springs and shocks and adding spacer & body lift why not just go with a 2-3" lift and be done. my wifes rubi doesnt ride much different than it did stock. spacers are needed if you are running larger tires on factory wheels they will rub control arms. we live in butler,pa so we see the same weathercond. the wifes rubi runs the stock wheels and tires for winter and 35" pro comps for summer duty.oh by the way i have the factory rubicon springs and shocks they were on 2 weeks before the rubi was lifted. $200 and there yours.|

Leveling Kits, Body Lifts, Wheels, Tires, and Suspension . . . Advice Needed
Purchasing a 2dr Sport with S package soft-top, half-doors, and undecided on auto or std. DD mostly highway driving with light offroad use (hills and trails). Love southwestern PA so lots of snow and nice summers. With your kind help, I have some questions.
1. Teraflex Leveling Kit -- no plans on an actual lift kit but love what the kit does (2 inch front, 1 inch rear). Did not care for the rake of the Jeeps I test drove. This will help I am sure. Plus it gives a little more room for wheel/tire selection (see next section). According to other write-ups, forums, and Teraflex, I do not need anything else for this kit to work. Is it possible to use this kit and add a 1" body lift for looks? My main goal is to not have to do anything else with suspension (arms, bars, etc). So will the leveling kit and 1" body lift work together or can I only choose one? Do I need any additional parts for this to work properly? Also, Teraflex mentiones adding wheel spacers if I want to run factory wheels/tires? I am confused, lol.
2. Wheels and Tires -- are the 17 in stock alloys on the Sport S package good or should I upgrade or go bigger (18) or smaller (15,16) or a whole different brand. Based on your opinion of what I should do regarding wheels, can you please make a tire recommendation. Also keep in mind the leveling kit I will be installing along with possible body lift in wheel/tire selection. I would like to have a stout and sturdy look with high function.
3.Shocks/Coils -- would like to optimize the ride. I was thinking OME shocks and maybe OME coils. When ordering or choosing, do I simply order the same size shock that comes stock? I have heard of people getting a slightly larger coil, sometimes 2 or 3 in larger than stock and that gives a lift but also a rougher ride and sometimes needing to add arms, etc. Any thoughts or advice?
That is all I have for right now. These are what I considered the top priorities.
