I would love to buy a Jeep and get all the parts but Cali has these laws that prevents title transfer unless you smog and few other rules. Passing smog with repairs can end up to be a costly affair. That is probably why these salvage yard owners are asking these ridiculous prices...they know people cannot buy them even if they want-to unless they are the sellers. Or the original owner has to sell them for parts....

The doors were in even nicer shape then the top itself. They had absolutly no rust inside and out. The only problem with it was one of the latches needed lubricated, but after that it was all good!

My advice is to look around on ebay. You might have to drive a little while to pick one up off ebay, but you can probably find one within 4 hours driving distance or closer.

vijay I'm all out to pay $350 for top and another $350 for doors. But the lowest one that I have seen so far in SFO Bay area is $750 top and $550 doors...Most of these salvage companies are asking $1500 for the combo here. They got new inventory from CFC...they are all over the place here.

birdhunter Its all about where you are
and the time of year
Most likely and cheapest way is find
a top then find the doors
I think 350 for top and 350 for doors is good
but sometimes you can get cheap doors
because they need work same with top
What can you live with or do they need to
be really nice or are you seeing nothing where you live

morphious if u have the money then yeah their all over the place on e bay or on Craig's list

Tough to find a decent set full door and hardtop combo

I have been looking for a set of full doors and hard top off n on for almost 2 years now. Every time something comes up on craigslist it is no lesser than $1500. Now, there are entire Jeeps being sold for $2000 in non-running condition with hardtop and full doors. I just donít like to do the paper work of owning a Jeep for parts plus I do not have space.
Anyway, what are your experiences in buying full doors and hardtop, what did you pay for either or both?
